re: Would ULL beat this team?

LSU played to the level of the competition. Did you not watch LSU Alabama game? These comments didn’t follow that contest. You base your opinion because you believe you are far superior to ULM but you are much more like ULM than LSU. You can watch polls all you want when you play little league football.Troy beat us years ago and those upsets do happen but they are rare. I do think Ul Lafayette would score on LSU this year that is something I don’t think they have ever accomplished in prior games.

It would be a competitive game for sure. I think UL would play a competitive game against anyone in the country right now besides Ohio St and GA.
With that said UL would lose to 3/4 of the SEC right now, but it would be competitive games

LSU is and will always be scared to play, it’s why they refuse to schedule them.
Yes. LSU is scared to schedule a team they are 22-0 against, who they once beat 93-0 and that hasnt scored a TD against them since 1934.
Nailed it.

FYI:
Cajuns beat ULM 70-20 last year. Much better coached team this year under Bowden and a better comparison can be made after next weeks game.

Only 2 or 3 games played in most of our lifetimes and none in the last 10 years so you can throw those stats out the window.
For those that point to the Texas loss to open the season, UL had pretty much an entire new staff under Napier going into a hostile environment to open the season with a large number of players affected by hurricane Ida. Disappointing loss but that game played today would look a lot different.
A LSU-UL matchup would be a toss up this year in my opinion. UL has a legit P5 type line. They wear down opponents late in games and Napier makes great in game adjustments.

LSU would probably win, but UL would certainly break the two century no-touchdown-against-LSU streak

It would be close simply b/c some of the LSU players would still have a little pride…In the end UL would dispose of LSU this year.

By rankings they would. I would expect ULL to beat ULM next week by more than LSU did this week even though the transitive property doesn't usually work. I think LSU vs Texas would be a toss up at this point. However, LSU is so inconsistent and unpredictable and tradition and in state rivalry pride would likely give LSU as much a motivational edge as beating big brother would give ULL. In the end I wouldn't be able to call it more than a toss up.

"Scared to schedule them"? USL has never sold its allotment of tickets for previous games played in Tiger Stadium. "Always be scared"? Look up the stats of all the previous games. Does the term "cup cake" come to mind? USL fans don't even support their own team. Check out those stats of average home attendance.

I definitely wouldn’t say scared, probably more to do with no reason to do anything to boost the only other in state school that could be perceived as any kind of threat even if just a small threat.
Judging by the crowd last night LSU wouldn’t draw well against most SBC schools either, but yes Lafayette has more than it’s share of bandwagon SEC fans. UL had many years in which they did not invest in athletics. Those days are gone. You are seeing the results today. Fan support will continue to grow. Do you honestly think any other school in this state would draw better against LSU?
Not sure why fan attendance matters though. You shouldn’t jump off a cliff because everyone says to do it. There’s probably less than 20 schools in the country that draw anything close to what LSU does. I personally support the teams that I have ties to, not because Joe Blow thinks its cool to be an LSU fan.
Saying usl shows your age though. Times change. The fact is the 2nd largest public University in the state of Louisiana will be the only team in the state to finish in the top 25 for the last two seasons. That has never happened in my lifetime. You can write USL or SLI in the top 25 poll, Doesn’t change a thing. UL is building something great and LSU is reaping the rewards of something that has already been built great.
All that said no disrespect, LSU has an enviable program and represents our state well. I would love to start seeing the schools play each other on at least a semi regular basis. The schools have only played three times since 1938!

Ya’ll got cocky 98 years ago in 23’ and almost got caught slippin’. Probably didn’t realize that SLI had a future National Player of the year (then Heisman) on it’s roster.

Wrong. Also, 2 well executed plays by LSU and the game would have been a blowout. See how that works…both ways.

No We would get outcoached but would win the game any way

If LSU played like they did last night absolutely they would

No LSU would win. It would be ugly but it wouldn't be a 1 score game.
ULL is 10-1 but are we just going to ignore their strength of schedule. Their combined opponents' record is around 0.450. And they have single digit point wins over some terrible teams. The App State win is their only noteworthy win on the year.

I can tell you that people at LSU routinely forget your school even exists.
