Would Daniels develop/produce at a high level under Kingsbury?

Kliff Kingsbury is the new OC for the Washington Commanders. Mel Kiper said today on First Draft that Washington with the #2 pick might very well select Daniels over Maye (with Maye falling to #3 New England).

Is it a good fit?

Kliff is an elite offensive mind. I think his first HC job in Arizona was a bit more than he could chew and Kyler may have been a little less bought in than he could have been.

I think JD could do well under him but would prefer he end up with a different organization

Produce? Maybe. Develop? Probably not. Kingsbury's best attribute as a coach is getting credit for the work of the amazing talent.

Washington will do what it takes to get Williams, who’s from DC to pair him up there.

Otherwise, there are worse systems to start your career to showcase your talent but Kliff hasn’t really shown much in scheme or even flow as a good play caller, he just spreads the ball out a lot and runs the hell out of some bubble/smoke screens

Long term Daniels needs something better to evolve into from a passing game so he’s be better off in a different system or situation imo but he’d put up good numbers in that offense pretty quickly

Caleb Williams is the Commanders’ target. Kingsbury coached him last season at USC. It’s not a coincidence that Kingsbury just turned down the Raiders’ OC job to work for Washington. Trade with the Bears upcoming.

Man Williams will be there for Washington to pick don’t worry. JD will run a 4.3 and blow everybody away in throwing drills. Then he will smile and kill the interview process. No way that clown williams get picked before nephew trust me.

Being a Cowboys fan, I sure hope the hell not. Let him go to a good franchise like New England, Tampa, or the likes. 'Hail no to the Redskins'.

Yeah, but that could possibly mean Daniels to #2 Chicago, if they are determined to move off Fields. The Bears haven't been relevant since, what, 2006? Another equally mismanaged organization for almost two decades.

Hell, I'm even uneasy about Mayo & the Pats developing Daniels properly considering how pathetic they've played & built the roster the past few years.

Daniels would probably fit best with the Falcons' skill players, but I'd never get to see it, cuz I'd shoot myself.

JD5 is +4000 for the #1 pick. $100 wins $4K.

Caleb is -1200, so essentially a lock.

If you’re JD5, Washington is literally the last place you want to go, regardless of coaching. The organization is still bad. They made a lukewarm hire in Dan Quinn. And their offensive line is the worst in the league. At least they got rid of Bienemy who should basically be charged with the attempted murder of Sam Howell last year. Howell was sacked 65 times. 4th most all time. Yet Bienemy’s offense also had the most pass attempts in the league. That’s awful coaching. Kliff can’t be worse.

Also, Caleb Williams is a bust. I’d go nowhere near him if I was a GM.

I can’t see Maye going to New England their new coach sees color as an issue

As a life-long Bears fan, if they pick that fingernail-painting, crying to his mama titty-baby, I am done with the Bears.

Either take JD5, or trade the pick for a king's ransom.

Lifelong fan here, why is the org still bad? Everyone who mattered from the last regime is gone. Everyone.

They have 6 picks in the top 100, a ton of cap room (near highest in the league), the best up and coming GM (Peters) who everyone wanted. Quinn is an elite defensive mind and KK can be that on the offense. It's gotta all come together obviously but it's hardly "the last place you'd wanna go".

The OL is truly terrible, which I'll give you. Some of that is on EB/Howell but it's going to get overhauled using the resources above.

My point: in no way is it a bad spot for any of those 3 quarterbacks. Being a lifelong fan, my take is let someone pay out the nose (picks) for Caleb and take Daniels or Maye at 2. My LSU fandom wants Daniels but Maye would be okay. I just really don't want them to trade up. We got fleeced in the RG3 deal and how bad does Carolina w Bryce Young look right now?

The Commanders are improving but it will take time to recover from the damage that Daniel Snyder did to this organization.

There are very few people (if any) on the planet that I loathe more than Daniel Snyder. Truly awful human.

And yes it will take time but the NFL is built for parity w the way the rules are set up (picks, scheduling, etc). A huge leap in year 1 isn’t off the table, Texans being the most recent example.

JD will fit in anywhere because of his relentless work ethic.
