This! For all you young pups who think the world started circa 2000, This was hands down the greatest injustice ever delt to an LSU football team. Just so you know.

What am I missing? I youtubed this, and clear as day they show LSU committing a facemask penalty. Were there two plays or something?

It was a face mask

No. Missing the false start by USC was worse...

2006 Early Doucet no call pass interference against Auburn.

That entire game was the worst piece of officiating I've ever seen. Skip Bertman put out a national press release about the officiating. Never before or since have I seen an LSU AD do that. That "loss" cost us the SEC West, another shot at Florida (who was not playing very well at the end of that season, and possibly a berth in the National Championship. Refs cost us BIG in that game!!!

Honestly auburn 06 was the biggest screw job I have witnessed in person. Not just the no pi call. The whole game the refs cheated for auburn. Utter disgrace.

frick I just realize how much I hate auburn. Chaz Ramsey trying to ruin dorseys career.

1989 UF game.....Dick Burleson added a second to the clock allowing the gator kicker to nail his personal best. They Won 16-13.

I was dressed out for that game and have had lengthy personal debates with Dick about it. He was dead wrong and it began an awful spiral for that LSU team.

Plus the USC RG (?) was almost standing up at the snap and it wasn't called.

At best it should have been offsetting

Perhaps the single worst call in history was the USC-LSU game in 1979. While Benji Thibodeaux did, in fact, grab McDonald's facemask, the play should have been blown dead way before that. The entire right side of the USC line moved about half a second before the snap. No flag. No whistle.

The worst officiated game ever was the 2006 game at Auburn. At least five different calls/no calls went against LSU.

1. Hester's catch ruled incomplete, even AFTER review clearly showed him with possession take two steps.
2. Lafell getting mugged in the endzone near the half. No call. Should have been LSU ball at the 1, since it was clearly pass interference in the end zone.
3. Phantom holding call on our Canadian right tackle (sorry, name escapes me) on a long completion to the tight end.
4. Early's mugging. Should have been called defensive holding, since the DB was literally hanging onto Early's legs.
5. This is the one I'm not certain about, but I think it was the same game. Auburn was driving left to right in LSU territory. AU completes a short pass and the ball clearly comes out. LSU picks it up, but the refs ruled him down. Replays showed that was not the case. They went on to score.

Damnit! Just typing that has me nearly hyperventilating. LSU was robbed that day - plain and simple.

My Dad would say Billy Cannon being denied a game winning two point conversion in Knoxville in 1959 costing LSU back-to-back national titles.

Didn't UT get their only TD that game on the hidden ball trick, which was made illegal after that game? Thought I remember reading that in the book, "The Fighting Tigers" by Peter Finney.

In the most recent of the unexpected happenings in an LSU-Auburn football game, LSU was whistled for a penalty on what was a missed Auburn extra point that would have left the game between the top 20 teams tied at 9-9 with less than two minutes left in the contest. However, Auburn didn't miss the second attempt as the Tigers snapped LSU's 10-game winning streak with a 10-9 victory at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
