1 question for someone with a better view. Did that groundball take a bad hop on chinea, or did he just chinea it?

Both. He disn't go after it on the short hop so it ate him up. It was a quick hop but nothing crazy. 3rd one the ball took I think. A typical hard ground all to the corner. Could have easily gotten in front to at least knock it down. Definitely an error. But Lazarre.

I was shocked that ball left the infield, but sigh. Just that kinda niight. Took the whole team sucking together to pull out that loss.

Mainieri said that he didn't bunt Greg Deichmann because "the kid has never bunted in his life."

Every player on this team has bunted as many times as he has practiced. How many practices has Deichmann been to? No practice begins without a session of bunting that doesn't quit sometimes. You cannot be a Tiger on this team without being able to bunt. The only time Deichmann hasn't bunted is when he hasn't been to practice.

Leaving Poche in two batters too long

hasn't this been typical the entire time he's been here? Sent him out there in the 7th with no one in the bull pen. that was genius. sends guys down to start warming up with the score tied. brilliant. i wonder when he drives does he apply his brakes after he passes under a red light.

If Deichmann can't bunt then put Byrd or Bryce in who can. You HAVE to bunt there.

Look at the last inning. We got a run. Why? We fricking bunted.

Not excusing Mainieri for having Deichmann in that scenario, but bunting in practice and a in a game are two COMPLETELY different animals.

Brother Martin was never asking Deichmann to bunt.

Yeah, not pulling him for someone who can bunt is inexcusable. Deichmann seems like he is being forced into this lineup too fast.

UK won because the ball hit the runner. Fluke thing.

You're right. That one play negates every mistake. Our fault.

That ball was not getting through the infield. Now if you were banking on the 2nd baseman misplaying it, than sure.

Says he didn't call bunt because he didn't emphasise bunting with those players.

That pisses me off so much. There is no reason to not have every player on this team capable of laying down a bunt.

It was getting through. It was hit that hard. And that 2nd baseman was terrible so even if he had to dive, he would have booted it.
