I counted 16 spits in approx 60 seconds while awaiting SC relief pitcher to warm up...it wasn't sunflower seeds. Seriously, does he do this while walking to class on campus or out n a date?

I noticed that when they showed him for a solid minute during mound visit.

baseball is a very strange game.
He probably grew up seeing baseball players spit and thinks it's what baseball players do. But he's not dipping, so why the need to spit?

When playing in the day I was a prolific spitter. I’d spit a small little bit every 5 seconds or so and much went into the palm of the glove.

Definitely dips when not playing.
However, I think he is dipping while playing too. But if he is not dipping during games, then I would like to know what else he is carrying in his back pocket that looks just like a dip can. Plus I have seen him a few times in games where he definitely is holding something in his bottom lip that looks just like a dip.

Do YOU do things on dates you do while playing video games? I assume you never played a sport or you would know that this is typical, no matter how over the top it may appear.

It's just a habit that some players develop and then do without thinking, like Drew Brees licking his fingers 600 times a game.
