Part of Woodward's master plan to make sure that LSU stayed ahead of A $ M for years. With that kind of money commitment to a coach that was on a downward spiral at Florida St, they will keep him for several years longer than they should.
There has so be a good Aggie joke about paying a new coach twice as much as the old one to get the same results.

O is still in 3rd place in SEC titles just since 2000.
note: this isn’t saying he won’t, or can’t get there. It’s saying he still has some accomplishments to reach before tossing him to top of the list.

Our championship had ZERO to do with Woodward
No matter what happened to get O, Alleva hired him and Alleva gave him the resources to make the moves he needed. Alleva wasnt perfect, but he brought us the situation for the title, period.

I have a&m in-laws (I know poor me) and they are convinced Woodward knew he would make it back to Baton Rouge. He knew the game had passed up Jimbo and wanted to anchor him at a&m with that god awful contract. All a grand effort to benefit Woodward’s home town tigers.

I can't stand Jimbo and never have. However it happened, I'm glad he's over there and they're stuck with him for a long, long time! Average coach that tricked the higher ups in Aggieville he was worth a lot of money!

How did that end up? Are you kidding me?
It ended up with the most successful decade in LSU football history, with two trips to the title game and one title. Some of you people are so fricking clueless. smh
