We could have Sylvia Hatchell (an actual national championship coach) for half the price.

25 years ago. She just got back to the tournament after missing the last 3 years.

Cool, that’s 2 teams under Joe Alleva’s watch to decline postseason play

To be honest, I obviously don’t give a shite about the women’s NIT, but it’s a joke to turn it down, just like the men’s team.

If she’s paying players, she needs to get a refund.

What the heck is this BS! You just gave a raise to the @LSUwbkb Coach and now you quit on the season? This administration definitely does not have the winning attitude we should have! They are embarrassing to all @LSUAlumni

Thank god we extended her

Our athletic administration has made some horrible decisions lately. First we give a contract extension to one of the worst women's basketball coaches we've ever had, then the Will Wade debacle, and now we're offering a raise and contract extension to a football coach no other school would hire. Great job Alleva and company!

Did Ben Simmons quit the team so they turned it down?

I guess but there's just no way that if they took a NIT bid this thread wouldnt be full of "what a waste of money", "look how far we've fallen", "Nikki just trying to add some easy wins". There is zero prestige to the WNIT. It's the CBI.

alleva's immortal words after les miles and george bass leveraged the arkansas position into another raise and extension.

Pretty sure he was forced into an admin role for the remainder of his contract!

Van was indeed forced out and into that admin role for his last season, after they turned down the WNIT. I remember how excited we were when we got Nikki Caldwell.................................................

The admins were responsible for this...

They didn't want to lose money on a home game in the NIT... true story

With as much as they piss away, that loss wouldn’t be a drop in the bucket.

Why? I don’t understand turning down a postseason invite

WNIT isn't nearly as prestigious as men's NIT.

And it cost $$$$ to play.

All the people who bitch about how much money women's basketball costs are now bitching because they decline an invite to a basically meaningless tournament that would drain LSU of more money.

The Rant always delivers.

There is no doubt. Teams have to pay money for this....either to host or to travel. If LSU put in a bid to host, there would be zero chance of making any of it back with ticket sales because the over-under on ticket sales would be about 200.

And the ironic part is that if we started winning games, it would lead to greater expenses.

No way is it worth it.

She’s guilty of impersonating a women’s basketball coach.
