Point guard play is severely lacking and not having a big down low will create a huge match up issue with certain teams.

Team is better with Mays running point, Taylor on the floor, and Bawlhog on the bench.

People have been saying this all season and yet, they are 16-4 with three of the 4 losses coming by a combined 6 points. And despite having such a severe "disadvantage" vs. bigger front courts, they are one of the best rebounding and paint scoring teams in the nation.

Who cares? Why shoot it from outside if you can efficiently score inside/at the FT line? Outside shooting is unreliable. Dunks and layups aren't. They are in the top 10 in ppg WITHOUT being able to shoot threes.

This has been kicked around on the Hoops Threads several times already and the consensus is that

a) LSU "CAN" beat anyone on any given and "LOSE" to anyone on any given night, based on all of the facts given previously So it is silly argument, unless of course, you are applying a wager on LSU winning the Title.

CURRENT VEGAS ODDS

Kentucky 18-1
Florida 30-1
Auburn 30-1
LSU 75-1
Miss State 300-1

Best BET is on MISS ST and LSU

b) Any BET or topic on LSU vs the field at EVEN $ is ridiculous! So yeah, EVERYONE will take the FIELD vs LSU at Even $ But give me 75-1 and I'll be your huckleberry!!

Mays looked better, but don't quit your day job to be a sports analyst.

You gotta have an elite point guard to make a run as a low seed or a team with little depth.

It is possible to achieve in other ways, but it's hard and somewhat lucky.

OK Grandpa.

LSU has one of the best inside games and rebounding margins in the country.

You know who has a stud big man? Almost no one.

1 through 5 this team is extremely tall, with every player between 6-4 and 6-9. That creates a lot of mismatches and makes for a great rebounding team.

And assuming Manning comes back healthy, an 8 man rotation is plenty. Few teams go deeper, especially in the tournament.

I'm not saying LSU will win it all, but sell this team short at your own peril.

Calling this now. LSU vs Louisville basketball in the title. LSU 78 Louisville 72.

You can make a lot of money in Vegas on that call if you're willing to put your money where your mouth is.

This is so true.

Last year Auburn won their first round game because when they fouled a 3-pt shooter in the final 2 seconds, he missed all three shots.

They eventually lost in the Final Four, because when they fouled a Virginia 3-pt shooter, he made the shots.
