Making Omaha gives you a 40 year contract at FSU

Who guarantees you soy bois a perfect season every time?
Because that is what you seem to believe you are entitled to.

I think coach Mike Martin made 17 trips to Omaha in 40 seasons. 42.5 %

Mainieri 5 trips in 13 seasons. 38.5 %

Skip Bertman : 11 trips in 18 seasons. 61.1 %

Augie Garrido (1973-2016) 15 trips/43 seasons : 34.8 %

Ron Polk : 8 trips in 35 seasons : 22.9 %

Ray Tanner ( USCe only ) 6 trips in 16 seasons : 37.5 %

When’s the last time a head coach in any sport has been fired less that 10 years removed from winning a national championship? I’m genuinely curious. I’d imagine it doesn’t happen often absent some off the field issues.

Since cpm started here they’ve both made 5. If cpm didn’t have the one ring he’d be gone

With Les, We won a championship in a year where we had the best team by far yet still lost to two unranked opponents, one at home on the last game of the year with everything on the line. No doubt the luckiest circumstances occurred with others in getting us the the championship game.

It wasn’t exactly the picture of dominance.

Most recently Les Miles. Before him, Gene Chizick at Auburn. Before him, Phillip Fulmer at UT. Before him, Larry Coker at Miami. Lloyd carr was basically forced to retire at Michigan and Mack Brown at Texas as well.

It doesn't happen often because it is a small group of coaches that have actually won national titles.

Didn't Gene Chizik get fired 2 years after NC?

You said lifetime though. 10 years is not a lifetime.
