Just saying. How many yards did we get per game on pass plays with JJ in the game. Over 100 each game I would bet. So it is not an entirely accurate depiction of JJ to only consider the weaker part of his game.

Yeah yeah I know it isn't what the thread was technically asking but we all know why it was asked.

Can someone pull up Jarrett Lee last start against LOUISIANA TECH and see how those numbers panned out.

They were better than Jefferson's against McNeese

Mark my words...I am at a maximum the 1086th person to say this and I mean it. JL is going to lite it up and I mean really lite it up. This season is going to be so much fun!!!!!

The fact is that QB at LSU has been horrendous the last several years. No reason to believe that it will be better this year until someone steps in and performs. Mr. Lee has his chance, but I am skeptical inasmuch as the STAFF has started Mr. Jefferson for the past two years. Further, it may be reasonably argued that Mr. Jefferson is the worst performing DI QB in the past two years.

Unless Mr. Lee has undergone a metamorphosis, this may well be a very long and painful season.

I very seriously do not GAF what the passing yardage is. The final score is the only stat that matters, the rest just is a means to an end.

if Jefferson stays suspended for the entire season and Lee doesn't get hurt, will he throw for less than 100 yards in any starts? Last year JJ threw for less than 100 yards in 8 out of 12 games.

That will probably depend on JJ's re-instatement

Thats odd, I was just thinking how great it was that Mr. Lee had undergone a metamorphosis, and kept us from a very long and painful season last year.

I'd be happy if they don't need 100yds passing.
If LSU attempts to become an air it out O, there's trouble.

I don't think anyone is suggesting any such thing. What LSU wants and needs is balance. A previous poster stated that we will miss JJ's yards on the ground. I submit that in all but a few games last year, we missed JL's yards through the air.

If JL can hit between 55 and 60 percent of his passes and NOT turn it over, then we won't miss JJ's running at all.

Consider the Cotton Bowl that the JJ lovers are so quick to get in a lather over. The guy completed one pass above 50 percent, but hit a few deep balls. Once that happened, Ridley and company had holes the size of two car garages to run through. That's all we need.

JJ 2010= 56.5%.
LSU wore aTm down in the trenches and option and read plays opened the gaps, since DL and LBs don't venture past the flat chasing fly.
More like the run success sucked up DBs for deep PA.

All i know is if we cant Replace 8 out of 12 games with less than 100 yards passing.....then we were doomed from the start even before the jefferson situation

Just an embarrassing stat honestly.

Lee is on pace to go 100%. Kind of like the JJ TD total comparison you made in another thread.

Yes it is embarassing. But if you take out the JJ drops and penalties, he threw for 245 and had a QB rating of 190.

likely to do better each game, than 100.

3 drops, maybe that happens. a hold on a long completion, maybe that happens. I suppose that was really a hold, chucking the out side of his shoulder. It didnt look like it was necessary though.

I just think some will break long. In fact, I think Lee will get 200 yards in the air in a couple of SEC games. I dont think he will play the whole game in the easy ones, since we need him to be healthy and as soon as Mett can play some, he should get some reps, against the worst opponents.
