he should've shown up and said he was in compliance, but can't comment further. If he had done that, what cause would Alleva have had to suspend him?
Why suspend a coach in these circumstances though? He's made it clear he can't meet to talk about those things until the trial (if it even happens) due to advice from his lawyer. It's not like he just didn't meet with Alleva for no reason or gave him the finger. There's no point for Alleva to take further action. What does suspending him do for LSU besides virtue signalling?

What’s the latest? How’d the meeting go?

Not sure how the meeting went but this thread is going terribly.

I just gave you a reason, he may want to work for someone else in the future.

Again, you can't seem to look at the situation objectively. Wade was the one allegedly caught talking about offering a deal against NCAA regs.
I don't care for Alexander nor Alleva, but they weren't the ones on the wire tap.
I honestly hope that Wade meets with them today, gets re-instated Friday, recovers his recruiting class, and goes on the advance deep into the tournament next year at LSU. And I hope in the meantime that LASU replaces Alexander and Alleva. But none of that means I think this is all Alleva's fault. Alleva must maintain at least the appearance of institutional control to the NCAA. To this point he has done such, imo.
I suspect this will all work out just fine. Nothing's going to happen because now it would bring down the Blue-Bloods, and the NCAA doesn't want that.

I hear they are at Sonic hashing out the details.

The day you are an elite anything is the day that what you would do in the situation is relevant.

That point aside, you are now saying it was not Wade
My point, nobody (probably even Yahoo) has even heard the tapes and the leak came from the defense, so everyone is rushing to judgment off of the narrative that they are floating out there.
Also, the snippet of the transcript that was released might not provide the proper context or tone of the conversation. We have no idea what preceeded the portion of the conversation that was released. We have no idea of the tone with which anything was said. And, yes, we can't be 100% sure it even is Wade just because Dawkins lawyers say that it is.

I’m being as objective as I know how. I'm assuming that Wade was in fact cheating and doing it as a matter of normal procedure. But I'm not going to be blind to the reality that this is absolutely the norm in college basketball ball to the point that by not cheating he would be doing his job completely utterly wrong. I'm also not going to be so unrealistic as to believe an athletic director shouldn't realize this.
Which means sooner or later getting caught is possibility for any coach. So any AD needs to be prepared for it and at least not make the situation worse when it happens. If this is in fact the way of the real world I can only conclude that Wade did what was expected of him but the administration didn't.
Along the same lines, I've also got to laugh at the people who say Wade is some sort of dumbass for getting caught on the wire tap in the first place. Who in their right mind would have predicted that the freaking FBI would get involved in NCAA rule violation investigation? The NCAA can't tap phones.

All the time.
But this is a another situation were you are making another bad analogy.
Will Wade is not a regular employee.
Will Wade is a contract employee worth $9 million to him.
Will Wade has a lot more on the line than a regular employee.
LSU has a lot more on the line with Will Wade than they do with Alleva's administrative assistant.
Will Wade had an excuse not to attend the afternoon meeting with Alleva, FKA, LSU compliance, LSU legal counsel and the NCAA rep.
Alleva and FKA created an environment in the second meeting were Wade, LSU, themselves and the basketball program were at risk. Clearly Alleva and FKA's motivations to have the additional representatives in the afternoon meeting was to cover their asses.
By not attending, Will Wade followed the advice of his legal counsel and potentiality saved himself, LSU, Alleva, FKA and the NCAA from a lot of trouble.
But for all we know they could have already met and just not disclosed that they have met to the public, yet.

There's no evidence available to the public that shows Wade on a wire tap. I prefer to make decisions based on fact, not Yahoo Sports.

Be honest: if your shift supervisor at the plant called you in to discuss a matter that is pending with the FBI, AND your lawyer advised you not to go, would you??

It's hilarious how people try to compare Wade meeting with Alleva to their manager at Walmart calling them into his office.
Hey idiots. You work at the electronics counter. Your boss make $1.50/hour more than you. Your boss is more important than you, because he can also go over and work the photo lab. You are easily replaceable and don't have any leverage.
Will Wade makes 4x more than his "boss", is much more talented and much harder to replace. Wade also has to consider that his "boss" is a bumbling idiot with a track record of totally mismanaging high profile issues. Throw in the complications associated with being called to testify as a witness in a federal trial plus later having to meet with the NCAA, and I think it's totally justifiable to not want to meet with Alleva, Alexander, the BOS, compliance and the NCAA at this time.

Lol. People and their “sources”.

Here is the article from the 3/14 Advocate which goes into pretty good detail about the Will Wade situation. Please read it and it will dispel a lot of misinformation in the and many prior threads.
Note two things, Will Wade met with Alleva and the NCAA back in the fall with compliance and attorneys involved
Will Wade was quoted that he's never, ever done business with Christian Dawkins.

Hey idiots.
Look in the mirror.
Alleva is a representative of LSU, acting in LSU's best interest, not those of Will Wade. Wade is subordinate to the interests of his employer, LSU, not Alleva. This is a Will Wade - LSU issue.
FWIW, in a serious matter, the manager is backed by the full corporate authority of his employers. You're the one making an apples to oranges comparison.
