Except it’s not. You specifically mentioned that we are paid out for men’s basketball.

Men’s basketball is a bigger deal than college baseball. This is not debatable.

Even at its absolute worst (right now) it makes a profit because more people watch college basketball than baseball.

LSU basketball could go make 100 bajillion dollars surplus but that does nothing to increase our rev share. We can use that money to upgrade the Box or some other nice amenities but it can't go towards transfer portal players or other NIL related expenses. You're missing the point.
Wow. I know more about rev share and NIL than maybe you can ever comprehend. I have multiple factual and vetted posts on it over the last year or so.

AD profits go to AD.
Rev share is capped at 20.5 right now with projected 4% next season and has a 75/15/5/5 split for players (university discretion).
NIL is currently completely uncapped.

We have so many uneducated posters on this board that prefer to remain as such.

I personally feel this would have a devastating impact on Baseball. If Wade comes back you have to figure Rousse and company promised him the World? Basketball makes $$. Baseball loses $$. More $$ to Wade means less $$ to go around for Johnson and Baseball. If this happens dont be surprised to see A&M open the checkbook and give Johnson whatever he wants!!

I hope that I am wrong!!

Dude, literally nothing you said contradicts or answers what I'm asking. We all understand this. Just because NIL is "uncapped" in theory doesn't mean it is limitless in reality. If they are promising WW a massively increased NIL budget, that is very likely going to mean less privately raised NIL resources that they can funnel to baseball.

This is likely my last response to you.

NIL donors aren’t a collective pool. Certain donors will contribute to certain sports exclusively. This is different than the older collective model.

You’re welcome to educate yourself, but I’m not doing it for you. Learn something. Yes, it’s not an infinite pool, but also sports aren’t siphoning from each other. Also, your MBB could make a cajillions and it means nothing to rev share or NIL is so obtuse, that profit goes directly to the AD, which can be used to offset expenses for non profitable sports, such as baseball. That allows baseball to have more amenities to help the players.

ETA: You mentioned amenities, improvements, etc. but basically dismissed it as unimportant. The point is MBB NIL isn't going to take away from Baseball NIL - baseball has a huge NIL support base - the only thing a successful LSU MBB program does is contribute to the the AD pool for all expenses. But who wants to profit $9.5 mil a year when you can just profit $1 mil?

I highly doubt it. Baseball culture is very strong in this fanbase and has been for a very long time.

So do I. I don't see a LSU world where they throw Baseball to the curb. Its also not as NIL competitive as MBB and football, so at least currently, you don't have to shovel as much cash at it.

mbb still netted $2.5M this past year and we are arse. It’s one of the only sports that can consistently generate revenue

Well, they do save a lot of money. They haven't had to travel to any post season play in a couple years. . LOL

I have to think that if Will Wade delivers this time like he did last time, we'll get enough new donor money from the excitement around the basketball program to pay for the NIL commitments we're promising him.

With good reason. 99% of college sports fans DO NOT watch college baseball. It is what it is.

To all the downvoters: be patient. I'm sure college baseball will eventually get BILLION DOLLAR TV contracts just like football and men's basketball do.

Do ya think it might be a SMIDGE easier to win a title in college baseball than it is in men's basketball?

For your sake, I sincerely hope you realize this.
