Forde, Thamel & Wetzel all think they NCAA will be able to formulate a Notice if allegations based on the audio tape, rather then what was before only a “media report”.

LoL yeah as the country careens towards a corona virus peak, as we approach thousands of deaths a day as a country and as a sports culture hope to salvage the nba season and have a normal football season, people will care a ton about regurgitated Will Wade recruiting allegations

Of course they do. They all thought Wade was going to be thrown in prison based on their initial reporting a year ago.

They’ve been screaming into the void on this thing for literally a year

Zero percent chance the ncaa didn’t hear this tape months ago. Those 3 are happy to have their transcript corroborated.

I’m a huge WW supporter, but yes having Dawkins authenticate the tapes hurts. The NCAA cannot use anonymously sourced information as the basis for a NOA. Until Dawkins authenticated the tapes tonight, they were anonymously sourced. The yahoo article made it clear, these tapes were provided by an unnamed source. Everybody and their brother knew it was Dawkins or his attorneys, but they didn’t have authority to release the tapes to the public, so it had to be unnamed sourced.

Don’t know how much it moves the needle for the NCAA since they cleared the player after an investigation.

I’ve always pointed to the source of the recording. Look back at my posts last year. Rules of procedure matter, especially now that the NCAA has a third party appeal process.

Still not sure the recording alone without a dollar amount is enough for a NOA. I’m sure the NCAA will look under every rock and Emmert may put pressure on Woody to fire him. We’ll see how it plays out. Keep in mind Self coached the entire season with a NOA pending. The question is whether Woody circles the wagons or sacrifices Wade.

Yea Woodward has a tough decision to make. After all that has went on with Wade I’m not sure as an administrator he can sit on his hands & wait if there is an NOA

I’m curious to know who drafted Wade’s amended contract. It came about a week after Woodward was hired. If it was something Scott did or if Alleva already had it ready.

Wade should have been fired when this all came out originally. Joe’s last parting gift was making a big clusterfrick of the situation.

Thanks for your fresh take. Now go play in traffic or lick door handles at the airport.

Had Wade just met with LSU’s administration immediately it wouldn’t have looked as bad.

I think not terminating him until the NCAA proves it is and was the right move

The amended contract was really just a means to avoid litigation if LSU decided to part ways after it receive an NOA. A level 1 or 2 NOA is probably grounds for firing with cause, but would end up in litigation without the amendment.

Also it allowed LSU to give public perception that it put Wade on a short leash.

Ill say it again since the other thread got anchored.

They recorded every phone conversation that man had for months and they never got any information of an actual payment? Wade might have been paying players but he obviously wasnt involving Dawkins in that aspect.

Right, I understand that. But it also tells me (if constructed by Woodward) they prob wouldn’t let him coach a full season with a pending NOA if they forced that new clause into his contract.

You sound like loser.

Pretty sure LSU handled it and worked out the differences.

Are you ever going to let this go? Maybe when Pat Forde gives it up?

Keep on doing you.

Why is that funny?

LSU has

-suspended him
-taken his bonus money
-amended his contract making him easier to terminate

You really think Wade could survive a NOA?

Valid point. I think it was Alleva and Alexander after they realized that they really didn’t have any grounds to fire him with cause, other than refusing to have non-privileged conversations about the subject matter of a trial subpoena he had been served with in a pending federal case.

Had they fired him with cause at that point, think Wade would have a decent case that LSU did not have cause giving the conditions.
