Well...wade kind of pursued the job the summer before and the Nunez connection

But I guess Joe did have to pull the trigger. So sure

Yes his best move was to make the associate Athletic Director Eddie Nunez in charge of searching and hiring the basketball coach.

I didn’t know Wade pursued the job. Outstanding.

Yes. Wonder what people will think once they realize Wade used LSU as a stepping stone to a real basketball program?

His best hires (Wade and Torina) were both because his top choices fell through.

Letting Nunez handle that hire was his best move. You could say Torina but it's still softball.

It was Nunez but maybe LSU's best move in many many years

He hired Beth Torita too. I wouldn't trade her for another.

Yeah, supposedly he told people connected to the program he felt he could easily get LSU to Florida’s level in the SEC

However it happened, looks like we’ve got us a winner. Lock him up

He can make LSU a real basketball program. The talent, support, and resources are all here for the taking if he can manage consistent success.

If a blue blood snatches him up than it’s because he rebuilt a program in the shitter so I’d be ok with it.

I'd be more proud of building my own program, than riding the coat tails elsewhere, but don't know what makes him tick.

Crazy how Joe didn't give Wade a decent buyout but does to Ed O? Alleva better have some people draw up some paperwork to keep Wade in Baton Rouge for a long time.

Alleva had to pull the trigger and close the deal so it was Alleva's hire.
Torina has been outstanding.
Keeping Mainieri from Texas was also smart.

Folks don't realize that AD's jobs are bigger than just coaching hires and they all make a few bad choices from time to time. Foley was considered a premier AD and a god by UF supporters yet he hired three loser football coaches: Zook, Muschamp and McIlwain.
