What happened to Austin Bain this year? Never recovered from offseason surgery fully?

By whom? Geez, I hate to think of anyone else on our staff trying to go five innings.

I didn't hear what pulmonary said, but changes could mean putting Lange on Friday to rip the heart out of the opponent.

Though he declined to reveal specifics, Mainieri said he and his staff will “make adjustments” to the starting rotation for their series against Arkansas this weekend at Alex Box Stadium. Mainieri did not say who will be involved in the shakeup, but the coach said he met with No. 3 starter John Valek III on Monday, telling the Akron transfer he feels “the book is out” on him.

From 1st pitch luncheon this week.

Would not mind seeing Valek come out of bullpen, would give you a lefty to help in a relief role that is one thing LSU has not had this year.

Norman or Reynolds might get a Sunday start instead.

Zach Lee to pitch on Sundays and Mac Marshall to return as mid week starter.

Good thing they've been developing a 4th starter during midweek games...

Do you honestly think they didn't want to develop a real midweek starter?

Think Reynolds gets a crack at starting Sunday.

Yes. Simply not a lot of good options with the pitching staff. Frankly, the book is out on most of the Tiger pitchers. This simply is a down year.

For several years. At some point a 4th starter is needed, either due to injury or performance of one of the top 3, and we inevitably have to turn to a reliever who usually only throws two innings tops.

I remember Reynolds being very very good his freshman year. (Seems like he has been here 7 or 8 years now).
I wondered last year how he went from being so good to has been. Do Remember him getting hurt and then pretty much disappeared for awhile. With Valek would seem that he may have filled in the Chris Cotten role but who knows

But upgrade, they didn't use the magic wand and conjure a 4th starter

Idiots ranters don't realize that to develop a 4th starter someone has to perform well in their short appearances before you give them more innings. Can you imagine how these idiots would melt if CPM left someone like Bain in for five innings while he was getting shelled?
