The HUNH teams for the most part only run a handful of plays. They just run them out of a bunch of different formations with post snap reads to make them look different.

That sounds good to me if it is successful we will have a great season ,some of you ranters are crazy, we will run the ball ,throw the ball how much we throw the ball will depend on how well it works and I think it will work well . No body throws the ball when it takes away from what succeeds !I believe in the old adage that there is three things that can happen to a ball in the air and two of them is bad ,actually there are several more disadvantages but I will stick to the old addge for now !

Why does anyone think the offense will change? Our offense has lacked execution for the past 2 years especially. The QB needs to prove he can complete passes. We have a OC that has been successful at every level of football, its not like he doesn't know what he is doing, despite what anyone on here tells you.

So no, the offense won't change, but we will hopefully see better execution. But you won't see a team slinging it 40-50 times a game under this staff. To expect that would be silly, and I think those expectations each year serve to only disappoint.

Harris has no excuses anymore, he has had plenty of game experience to be a success executing this offense. When you see him actually get into a rhythm, you will see how the offense is supposed to be run. He has the skills, just needs to stay out of his own way.

Fantastic thread. Just chock full of interesting new ideas.
We need more just like it because the previous 10,000 were all just as informative.

I believe there will be some subtle differences; some new plays and formations.
What I hope for the most is less 40 yard bombs down the sideline on 2 and 7 and instead a higher percentage play.

When Harris demonstrates in-game that short pass consistency, Coach gets more confidence to call pass on 1st down, keeping the defenses honest. I believe that he will make a leap this year in that facet of his game. Should see more touch, less fastballs on screen passes.

Doesn't matter how well you execute if the other team knows EXACTLY what you are going to do.

Except its dumb. Cfb isnt about running some new innovative offense its about executing the plays you do you run.
Its amazing how many posters on this site dont this. Its fricking common knowledge. The coaches have 20 hours a week to practice.this isnt the nfl where you have all the time you want to implement new plays every week. This simple fact is why having a more experienced qb helps because each year you can add to the playbook you used the year before. The people that think HUNH teams run more variation of plays than we do have no clue what they are talking about.

Spot on. The only thing our 2015 offense lacked was passing efficiency. Harris has a decent deep ball. If he gets better short and intermediate passes then our offense may lead the sec.

At oregon Chip Kelly ran all of 2 kind of running plays. Inside Zone and power zone. Thats it. This notion that a huge playbook and huge variation of plays is needed to have a great offense in cfb is just wrong. There isnt a program in cfb with a huge playbook.even playbooks with a senior qb pale in comparison to nfl playbooks.

Qbs struggle in our scheme because of the complexity.not because its simple and teams know what we are running. If teams knew what we were running then in 2015 we wouldnt have finished 4th in the sec in offensive yards per game and 3rd in the sec in offensive points per game. 2015 lsu was 11th in the country in offensive yards per play.

So why not have one play and run it all the time? Because execution of the play is more difficult when the opposition knows what's coming.

By end of September, if Harris is completing less than 55% of his passes and struggling to make 10 completions a game or struggling to get 200yds per game, then this is a repeat of last year.

I don't think the defense will be that great against the run so we're going to have to put points up and have a high powered offense.

They were hunting quail at Little Pecan and Flores lead in, "I hire the very best assistants and specialists at every position that's important in my company and they are paid more than anyone else in their field because I rely on them to execute for me. And because I pay them what I do and because they are the best I know I can rely on them. Because I can't do everything by myself. And I know if they let me down or if I try to do their job (which I might not know how to do) then my job is now on the line..."

As our offense gets older, it gets more wrinkles. That's all I expect.
