For what it's worth I heard a first hand account of a long conversation between Jim Flores and Miles in which Flores told him he needed to relinquish control of his offense to Cameron or else.

Flores doesnt know football if he thinks play calling is whats holding back the offense. Last year we ran the ball so much because we had a true sophomore running a scheme he has never run before and that qb had accuracy issues on short and intermediate throws.
Ill never understand how posters on this site dont get this. If the players execute passing plays in practice then they will get called during the games.

It's like people cant see the differences between lsu offenses under Jimbo, crowton ,and Cam.

of course but if you add in the 22,21,12 formations which are basically running plays, its greater than 11 formation. Which would explain what? The run to pass ratio.

Maybe better execution because of experience. Miles believes and has the players believing it's just about execution.
This. Harris will be an upperclassman with lots of time in the system. He has a whole year's worth of starts under his belt. He was efficient up until the Bama game when he got hurt. Wasn't the same after that. He will be improved and that alone will make the offense look way better.

All the past problems of this era have been rooted in recruiting...poor recruiting at QB for sure; several years where OL and/or DL was sub par, as well as LBs ...but those days are all in the rear view mirror now! We have 2 above average QBs committed for 2017;what looks like the best set of OL and DL recruits lined up in a very long time; and LBs are getting shored up as well...whereas 2016 is looking good, I think that 2017 could be the best defense in LSU history if all the dominoes fall right in recruiting...jmho

Pass to rush ratio isnt what we were arguing about. I responded to a poster that was saying that Miles only had 2 wr sets when attempting a pass play when ,in fact, a 3wr set was the most used set. You cant count running plays as 2 wrs sets because we arent passing ball. We were discussing how many wrs we had on the field when it was a passing play.

Yep. This is the great benefit of having an experienced qb. Each year that a qb returns to the program, you can implement new plays to the playbook on top of the plays the qb knows from last year. This simple aspect is why having an experienced qb is a great benefit.
