According to O we came up with some drills for the defense to practice on crossing patterns after the UCLA game. Not in the spring. Not in the summer. After the UCLA game.

We should be just fine.

Yeah. Improvements after the fact are necessary, but we heard all through the off-season that the busts and communication issues had been fixed over the summer workouts and in camp.

The thing is, I have no doubt O and the staff thought the were addressed based on their way they practice. All that tells me is that practice isn’t challenging the players and isn’t revealing problems that need to be fixed. That means our practice kind of sucks.

They didn’t really loose there was a total bullshite non call on a punt return ran back by Memphis. And Birmingham or refs bothered to correct a big blank mistake.

Seeing UCLA get 2 big plays(I think both TDs?) on crossing routes that went uncovered definitely leaves me concerned.

Not sure we'll 100% get it resolved, but I'm going to go wayyyyyyy out on a limb and say MSU will not throw for 600+ yards passing on us, you heard it here first!!!

Run a mixture of 4-1-6, 3-8 zone blitzes, 2-9 dropping linemen into crossing areas. It's what Bellecheck did to the Bill's in the superbowl 30 years ago. Slowed that passing game way down.

If we could run the ball yes that is what you do to State, and Ole Miss. Unfortunately our oline sucks and we can't run tuw ball.

I agree, we have to play zone and show some different looks out of that zone with a delayed LB blitz occasionally. Keep them in front of the DB’s and force mistakes. We don’t want to get in a track meet like last year playing a bunch of man coverage. Our LB’s have very low football IQ/awareness, so they aren’t good at changing up coverages with sight adjustments.
