Yes, the refs will absolutely protect Bama. Just like they protected FL and Iowa.

And according to the refs office that was justified as a penalty. The fact that the Tigers have never got an appology from those guys are about as revealing as can be on what they think about the stupid people from Louisiana.

If no one believes that these things do not exist, please rewatch the Pitt/WVU game of '07 and how badly the refs were trying to take the game away from Pitt.

As far as our game, I don't see a HUGE risk for refs to do this. If we win, we have a great shot, along with Florida (and still Bama), to make it to BCS c'ship. ONE of us is going to play Texas in the big show.

Ahh, nice to see someone on this board is actually paying attention. Well done, sir.

P.S. I like the new helmet-to-helmet contact penalty they've come up with now. Takes the monotony out of always having to call holding when "necessary."

And watch out for those borderline/"opinionated" penalties like offensive pass interference and roughing the passer. Sometimes it can go either way. When its really close, watch it favor Bama.

An SEC crew got put on suspension screwing Arkansas. It was something we have been discussing for years. It is very real. Saying otherwise proves your ignorance or neglect.

UF got the short side of the calls vs UGA. But to answer your question, Yes the refs will cheat for Bammer.

We're 7-2 against Bama this decade. I guess the refs should cheat a little harder to get the job done.

When Joe Dean was LSU's AD, he had all the AD's in the conference poll their alumni chapters located in Birmingham on their opinion on relocating the SEC offices to another city. It was 100% for getting the offices out of Birmingham. Go to the baseball tourney & look up at the SEC's boxsuite & notice all the SEC blazer-wearing officials cheering for Bama. Happens every year.

Without a doubt this will happen.

As for the bama fans coming here saying that we are already making excuses:

NO, we are not. In fact, many fans like myself believe it is the job of the head coach to prepare our team for this very scenario.

Our coaches need to prepare this team to face adversity when we have at least two big plays and possibly a score or two taken away because of bad calls. Wouldn't surprise me if an instant replay is botched in this game too.

If the coaches are smart, they will have a few plays drawn up for 1st or 2nd and 20 after we have a holding call go against us. (I expect Bama to get no holding call all game, BTW). Also need to be prepared to have one of our DBs called for a "helmet to helmet" hit on a key third down stop. That new "helmet to helmet" rule is great for refs when they need to make other calls that aren't so "obvious".

I really think LSU has a shot to win this game, but they must be prepared for this on top of a well-designed offensive game plan.

I noticed that Vegas had the line at 2 scores (8+). That, coupled with the fact that the media pundits have been saying for the past month that Bama and UF are meeting in the SECCG should tell any fan with a half a brain what is in store Saturday.

This 2009 team is going to show us what they are made of Saturday, one way or the other.

we usually fair pretty good in tuscaloosa when it comes to getting calls to go our way. remember the "non pass interference call" in 05?

and if IRC, as bad as the penalties were in bama's favor in 2007, 15-2 someone stated, i think there were several other bad calls made in bama's favor. 2 or 3 if i'm not mistaken, that had they not reviewed would have been devistating. fortunately replay showed the fumble near the LSU sideline and the long diving catch (initially ruled a catch) by the bama receiver, both of those calls being reversed in LSU's favor. i completely agree with the above poster that bama will have zero holding calls against them, and at some crucial point in the game, or some big play we make, a holding call will magically appear.

Yeah, the 2007 game was a joke, but that team was obviously one of the best teams in LSU's history.

This 2009 team is too inexperienced to overcome a 15-2 penalty ratio. Simple as that.

definitely agree with you there....and for those who have never been to BDS, it is quite loud and intimidating. i hope our guys come together and overcome everything thrown at them and play their best. here's to winning on their turf this year....
