Texas and the Little Brother Aggies might be forced to play again.

State legislator stepping in

quote:

The bill is ceremonial, considering it calls for the state to not fund athletic scholarships or financial aid for players should one side or the other not agree to play the game.

Please to god let this happen.

LSU can go back to playing Arkansas on Friday’s after Thanksgiving.

Hopefully the rivalry will be resumed to hurt TAMU recruiting

I wish they’d move the AR game back to Little Rock. Feyettville is nicer, but travel, etc is so much easier in LR.

That's an odd quote to pull. Doesn't have any context to the thread title.
And I'm not following that link

Texas vs. Texas A&M is one of the all time great college rivalries. I don't know why they ever stopped playing except for egos. Florida plays Florida State, Clemson plays South Carolina, Georgia plays Georgia Tech, Kentucky plays Louisville and they are all out of conference.

A&M ran away to another conference because they were losing so much.

Yes, A&M ran away from the longhorns to play in the toughest football conference in the nation. We were so scared of them that we much rather play the Alabama’s, Auburn’s, LSU, Georgia, etc......

You actually think they are moving that A&M game out of rivalry week?

A&M gave Texas the Big F.U. and said.... your entitle BS attitude is too much.... we're dumping your shitty conference and moving to a better league, tougher competition and more equally shared revenue.

then, look what happened, Johnny Football wins Heisman, alums donate $300 million +, the completely rebuild Kyle Field into the largest stadium in the SEC and after 6 years they dump their coach, spend HUGE money to get "the best coach money could buy" and their recruiting rankings soar, form mid-teens to top 3, don't underestimate the Aggies... their huge numbers and huge money generating capabilities could all add up to serious trouble for LSU and the SEC West if things come together with Fisher.

I'm all LSU, but live in Texas and see daily the power their numbers have.

I personally miss playing Arky the last game of the season every year. It's nostalgic I guess. Always looked forward to making ham sammiches from Thanksgiving leftovers and enjoying the hogs going down in flames while draining a few bottles of Dos Equis.

What on earth does that have to do with A&M along with Nebraska, Colorado (all national winners in the 90’s) and Missouri wanting to leave a toxic conference where Texas kept turning the table on the conference! You tigers bleed all over the internet complainig about Alabama and this conference yet you do nothing about it. At least we had the balks to give Texas and that shitty conference the finger and moving to a conference that has benefited us tremendously to the point that today A&M is the richest sports program in the nation going on 2 years, choke on that! I’ve read some of your posts, not the sharpest tool in the toolbox.

I wish we could send Arkansas to the Big XII who would send West Virginia to the ACC and the SEC picks up Clemson.

Me neither. It was always a dull atmosphere. The SEC messed up by not letting LSU and Arkansas play on Saturday nights at the end of the season. In 2009 they played in Tiger Stadium and LSU won 33-30. Great night. Should've always been that way.

The state has no business telling football teams who, or where, they must play.
