I guess the relevant question would be, "will LSU NEED to be able to run the ball?"

I think the relevant question actually is, "Will LSU continue to run the ball after they have success."

Because the answer to that question the entire year has been a resounding, "No!".

LSU will be able to run the ball. Either Ridley or Shepard will tear off a 12-20 yard gain then Crowton will call the following:
Dammit Drizz- You could have at least let Penn. St. figure that out for themselves, now they already have the key to Crowton's playbook...

ridley at fullback and rs and th at tail back. Send ridley up the middle and tb outside. Unstoppable if gc is smart enough to do it.

You don't understand. GC is too smart for that, the opposition will expect it. So instead, it's Shep up the middle, Ridley wide.

We don't need to use what works, we need to confuse everyone - ourselves included.

yes they will. If Shep gets a significant # of touches he will run all over Penn D, but i also think we will be able to throw the ball well despite Jordan Jefferson. Recievers are too big, too fast.

You've done a good job of identifying LSU's weakness. The offensive line has been very poor.

However, it is this weakness that makes this a pickem type of game. If LSU were able to run the ball effectively, LSU would win by 14+ points.

I don't see Penn St. scoring very many points. And, in spite of our OL, LSU's offense will still present a fair amount of problems for Penn St.

In the end (assuming that LSU doesn't shore up it's major weakness), this is going to be a close game, IMO.

We haven't run the ball effectively all year.

When have we tried? I'm pretty sure I've seen a 12 yard gain on 1st and 10 followed up with 6 straight passes in multiple games this season.

The only time I remember 3 consecutive runs that failed was a 3 runs, 8 yards and punt inside LSU's 20.

Jordan Jefferson will be fully healthy and I think he alone will rush for over 50 yards.

LSU fans are by and large morons, so they don't grasp that JJ has mastered the pocket and only struggled with sacks, lack of rushing yardage late in the season become of his injury.

Jordan Jefferson is the 2nd best LSU QB this decade.

Check out this link:

We've only thrown the ball more than run it twice...once against Auburn and once against Ole Miss.

That anyone could have watched this entire season and think that we were an effective running team blows my mind.
