The next top rusher in the country is Tevin Coleman. 2,036 yards rushing at 7.54 yards per pop and 15 TD's. If you did that in the SEC, you would probably win the Heisman unanimously

Sure. But I have NO clue who he is... LF will be a name, BUT LSU will have to do better than 8-4 for him to have a chance..........

225 carries 1500 yards 18 TDs 20 rec 300 yards 2 TDs

Unless he gets 300 carries or averages something insane like 7.5 ypc on those 275-300 carries, I don't think he comes close any year. He will need a base of 2000 yards and 20 rushing TDs. Melvin Gordon is having a ridiculous year, but so is Mariota. It's pretty much Mariota's as long as he doesn't lose a game. Even still, they've pretty much made it another QB award, so he might win it anyway.

I do believe Fournette will be in NYC as a junior though. He'll get in the top six if he keeps improving.

I forgot about all purpose. Maybe something like this

250 carries 1800 yards 20 TDs
30 receptions 500 yards 5 TDs
3/3 passing 80-100 yards 3 TDs
KR TD

So, Hell naw lol.

Who cares? How often does the award go to the best player in college football? Depending on effectiveness, I would rather 3 guys carry the load than 1 to keep them ready if the #1 goes down. Ask Todd Gurley about his supposed Heisman season and that was splitting carries and taking 4 games off forcibly, then boom.

If he does this AT LSU and they are like 11-1 with a chance at the playoff??? He will win going away,,,,

I don't care for Fournette in the return game. I do believe LSU will feature him more than most backs previously

Also, 1200 yards isn't heisman but depending upon numbers of touchdowns then you can have a shot. Lesser yardage numbers still means more in the sec if you are the best team in the conf

no. Les Miles is his coach. LF7 will split carries with 3-5 different running backs his entire career

We play to win games, bro. Not individual awards.

There's no reason to overwork Fournette with the amount of talent we have (and will have) at RB.

That said, he has the potential to compete for the Heisman even if he doesn't get 25 carries per game.

actually the less carries the better for him when you think about his professional career

naw, this doesn't really matter much. He could do like Emmitt Smith 187 in 9 games, 229 in 11 games, 284 in 11 games, then 15 years in the NFL. Or Marshall Faulk with 201, 265, 300 and then 12 years. Or Tony Dorsett with 220, 255, 318, 370 and then 12 years. More recently LT 126, 144, 303, 369, and then 11 years. Steven Jackson 74, 319, 350, now in his 11th year. Shaun Alexander 77, 90, 258, 302 then 9 years. Michael Turner 92, 200, 310, 338 and then 9 years.

I could go on, but nah.

Fournette will finish this year with about 190 carries. IMO it's safe to assume he will average around 17-18 carries over the next two years. With or without the possibility of playoffs, he will go over 220 carries twice before he leaves unless injury occurs.

I love nothing more than too see an lsu player win the heisman. It is a dream and a goal of LF to win it, but there will never b a offensive heisman winner of a miles coached team

Only if they get more creative with him... he runs into 8-9 man fronts every game takes a beating cause the passing attack is so anorexic

No, it will be a QB in a high-powered offense. Heisman is a beauty contest, and nobody thinks running the ball is beautiful anymore.

Nope. Miles rotates the RBs. I'd be surprised if any RB under Miles averaged more than 20 carries a game.

He will get a fair shot. But he hasn't done anything that would make me think he has any shot at it to date.

Fournette had the most carries on the team this year as a true freshman. He will have 250 carries next season, but he'll need to average over 6 or 7 ypc to have Heisman numbers.
