That's the major question between us and hoisting a title.

The hitters are there, and one starter is.

Will enough of them come around to get it done?

Honestly the schedule preseason when you saw the SEC schedule was going to be rough due to the start. It has honestly benefitted the Tigers starting out with the better teams on the schedule. Need time for guys to recover or step up and gain confidence heading into tournament play.

Only 2 (Ackenhausen and Coleman) of the 6 injured pitchers (Ack, Coleman, Noot, Applebey, Edwards and Shores) could be available going forward, the other 4 are out for the season.

ETA: Forgot about Grant Taylor, so that is 7 injured with 2 possible returnees this season.

It's a work in progress, with several bright spots:

Collins and Money had good outings this week. Money went into a rough situation (bases loaded and 1 out) and got the two batters he faced in that inning out and squelched the fire.

Little was rolling today until he lost the strike zone (did not allow a hit against UK).

Guidry and Herring got extended in this series. Herring a heavier workload than previous and Guidry making several appearances in the series. Both had struggles, but the positive in this situation is Johnson & Johnson are getting them ready for the grind ahead.

Floyd's outing looks a lot worse due to back to back fielding snafus.

Cooper was effective over two appearances.

Need to get Hurd turned around, need effective innings out of him going forward.

I think Bucknam needs to have a role, too. Even if, like Money, he eats a few innings during the week and weekend. Obviously, a breakout would be great. You hope that more workload continues his development for postseason play.

agree and I don't think they have given up on Bucknam despite his rough last outing

we really need to be able to, over the next five weeks, extend one of herring, little or Hurd. Asking for two seems a bit much. Gonna be hard for this team can crawl out of the losers bracket if all but two of our pitchers can't go but once through the lineup

Can LSU get a couple of pitchers from the portal?

They could. Maybe they will make a move before the trade deadline

Not just Bucknam, Hellmers and Dutton need to start eating inconsequential innings in mid-week and weekend games. It would be nice if we could get effective pitching out of those three.

Really disappointed that Dutton has not stepped up and been a bigger part of the bullpen.

I think so,

If Floyd can start to find the zone. We don’t need perfect with our bats.

We currently have once Ack is healthy: Ack, Herring, Guidry, and Collins as dependable arms in the pen. Coleman might give us a bonus.

If we need maybe with Ack, Guidry, Collins and Coleman stepping up we can move herring to starter.

I think Little can give us 2 clean from the pen and same with Hurd.

I’d love to see someone else step up like Dutton

I keep forgetting about Cooper. If he gets in decent form he can be clutch for us.

Money and Hellmers can be inning eaters.

It’s crazy without injuries we probably push as deep of a staff as possible

I thought the prognosis on Edwards was that it wasn't as serious as they originally thought? Did it get released/reported that he tore his UCL?

would be great for one of the three to rise to a big role

Hurd has to deliver more than two innings in a three game series

I missed that info about Shores and Edwards being done for the year. What were the injuries? I thought Edwards had a chance to come back this year.

I’m pretty sure that Ack is not lost for the season.

Initially they didn’t think it was that bad, maybe a forearm issue but then there were some reports/rumors ? a few days later that its was worse & hes fukd basically.

But I may be 100% wrong??

Between the couple coming back, the few being fast tracked up and stretched and the couple who needed to get back on track and have begun too...I say just in time...there are a few that seemed lost from jump ( collins, ) who we needed that are showing out big time now..Dutton coming along

It's been rumored on here that both Edwards and Shores are done for the season, but I haven't seen anything official from Johnson.

You can tell J&J are waiting for Hurd to break through. I don't know if it's his mechanics coming off of injury, mental or some combination of the two, but it just isn't happening. If he can't break through and become our third starter things could get rocky in the postseason.

Ack has a hamstring issue. Should be back soon.
