He could’ve this past year, had House fielded a top 50 defense. You can bet that’s gonna eat away at him for the rest of his career.

Seems like DL is a problem this year. I have a feeling we’ll be saying the same shite at the end of this season “if only we had a good DL we would’ve won it all” which is annoying.

Especially when it’s stuff we used to take for granted as LSU fans.

I think so.

Recruiting it starting to shape up.

This upcoming class is the kind you build a championship team from.

Both Les and O had more luck on their side than anything the specifically did.
in 2016, O was left with the worst offense in school history, then was thrown the worst hand possible in 2020 with covid and BLM back to back while trying to rebuild the entire team and replace a DC and Joe Brady.

The revisionist history here is astounding. Les was the one given a Ferrari that he crashed out.

Not with a 12-team playoff. He’s never shown he can put it all together. Something (offense, defense, or special teams) is always missing. He is t some QB guru either.

But the guy that finally won 10 games a decade into his head coaching career can?

7 win Sark will return and you people will have a tough time swallowing that pill.

Who knows but I like his chances better than I did Ed Orgeron or Les Miles and look what they did
But times have changed so you can't really make that comparison anymore.

But yes he can, and hopefully he does.

Oh what the hell ever. That team had fournette, Dupre, guice etc on it. Don’t act like there was no offensive talent.

You mean the same circumstances literally everyone else in the country had to manage too? It’s not like replacing coordinators and dealing with BLM was unique to LSU.

Bro, O absolutely mailed it in after 2019. Don’t even try to change that narrative.

This, BK has had two seasons and really only two full recruiting cycles. In his third we are recruiting way better on defense with CB being an issue we need to sore up. In my opinion, he’s doing very well from the trash O left. BK has the tools to win championships at LSU.

It was such a strange comment. Generally something like that would be said after several seasons (if it were indeed the case), not after two.

Kelly is behind in recruiting elite talent on defense. This is year 3 and the defense still has a lack luster roster. We will see if Baker can coach them up but size, speed, and experience is lacking in almost every position group with a few outliers.

If we cannot consistently bring in ELITE talent @ DT, LB, S, & CB we will float at 9-10 wins until his contract is up.

2023:
Dashawn Womack, EDGE - #42 (natl), #5 (pos)
Javien Toviano, S - #59 (natl), #5 (pos)
Whit Weeks, LB - #149 (natl), #15 (pos)
Kylin Jackson, S - #174 (natl), #13 (pos)

2024
Dominick McKinley, DL - #13 (natl), #3 (pos)
Dashawn McBryde, S - #88 (natl), #5 (pos)
Tylen Singleton, LB - #158 (natl), #10 (pos)
Gabriel Reliford, DL - #202 (natl), #18 (pos)
CJ Jackson, EDGE - #237 (natl), #27 (pos)
Joel Rogers, S - #269 (natl), #22 (pos)
Ju’Juan Johnson, CB - #289 (natl), #27 (pos)

2025
Damien Shanklin, EDGE - #86 (natl), #11 (pos)
Charles Ross, LB - #88 (natl), #10 (pos)
Jesse Harold, EDGE - #103 (natl), #15 (pos)
Keylan Moses, LB - #247 (natl), #26 (pos)

That’s just the ones who fall into the top 300 recruits nationally. We recently picked up a couple more 4-star DT commitments for 2025 guys who are just outside of the top 300.

There isn’t really any reason to be concerned about LB or S recruiting at this point. There’s probably not any reason to be concerned about DT recruiting considering we pulled a 5-star DT in this year’s class and Bo is starting to pick up ‘25 commits. The only position group I really see that reasonably warrants long term concern right now is CB.

As for your comment about this year’s team lacking “size, speed, and experience in almost every position group” - again, not really. Just CB and DT. I would argue that makes them the outliers, not the other 6-7 players on the field. We had a few bad breaks (notably Zy Alexander’s injury last year and Mekhi Wingo making an arguably ill-advised decision to leave early). We have also had to fill holes at both of those position groups over the past 2 years with transfers (Wingo, Jefferson, Bernard-Converse, Garner among others) which makes it take longer to stabilize things.

Last year was our year, but our shite defense held us back. It'll be a few more years now.

I really hope so, but his big games are suspect. He develops men . It's his moto. Not champions.

Probably. He has figured out that O hired better coaches than he did so he is rehiring them.

Did anybody think Will #4 OT and Jones #8 IOL would be Freshman
All-Americans. I knew Will was potentially All-SEC when he signed. Did anyone not think that Lanes sonNlaw Walker would transfer a year after most were ecstatic we signed him & year 3 is still a Backup at Ole Miss. Did you believe Mason was as good as CBK said he was or did you think “what else is gonna say about his TE” Did you believe JD was going to come here and start let alone win LSUs 3rd Heisman. Did you think CBK would beat Saban in first matchup? I didn’t think any of this, so will CBK win a Natty? I dont know but I believe a lot more in CBK than I did in the final minutes of the Florida St game. So I’m saying there’s a damn good chance. I know that if this NIL shite wouldn’t have come along or preceded his tenure at LSU, I sure as sht know he would have. Bryce & Harlem are a great start following Nuss, we are still in it.
