Exactly.

Our last drive against OM was the only drive this year where I would have expected the backup to go in.

I don't know if he will be ready, but if Burrow keeps running the ball he will see action sooner rather than later.

If Brennan plays 4 regular schedule games, will a bowl game or playoff burn his red shirt?

You fricking "dream up" shite Einsteins are amazing! Was Jeaux ready when he was "thrown to the wolves"?

Jeaux didn't have the luxury of game reps with this team before Miami so why the frick take away HIS reps now just so Brennan can get a few?

Brennan, who's been here over a year, HAD that luxury last season and it still wasn't enough to hold off Jeaux as a starter! So, just how much garbage time does Brennan need to be "ready"?

If Myles goes in, it'll be the exact same fricking situation as when Jeaux was thrown into the action in game one AFTER even less time with the team than Brennan!

But HEY! Let's frick UP Jeaux's continued growth and the Team's chemistry development in preparation for the remaining SEC games so Brennan can get some trash time in.

Let's see...a bowl game or a playoff game is STILL a game! Right? The answer is Yes! 4 games max!

Huh? Nothing at all. That's why choosing the 4 games will take some thought.

Taking as in burning? The fact that we could have Brennan for 2 seasons AFTER Burrow is why that would be wrong.

There's no substitute for game reps.

Does NFL backup QBs get reps to be ready Incase they have to be thrust into action?

Dude got PT last year if he has to go in I’m sure he’ll be ready

Brennan will be Burrow's back up again next year without the need to preserve a redshirt. He can take all the snaps he needs next year.

Somebody please tell me why are so many people infatuated with Myles Brennan getting on the field when Burrow only has 5 career starts under his belt and we're about to go through the gauntlet part of our schedule. Brennan needs to get better at practice.

Burrow was coached up by Urban Meyer. Brennan was coached up by Ed Orgeron. Our coaching staff has not coached up well to produce productive QB's last few years. I suspect Brennan does not posses the technical knowledge yet to excel at QB like Burrow, not because he is incapable but only because our coaches lack the knowledge and execution finesse to teach it. We're in trouble if Burrow goes down.

When the game is well in hand yeah they do.

There was no reason Brennan couldn't have gotten some snaps during the SELA game.

I disagree. I didn't see an opportunity for him to get into the SLU game. It was only our second game and the offense didn't look crisp, at all.

Look at the play by play for that game. We only had 2 fourth quarter possessions. The first stated from our own 6 with about 12 minutes left and we were only up 24. No way you put Brennan in for that one. Our second possession was after the Jacoby Stevens fumble return, which set up a great opportunity to work on our red zone offense.

I said it earlier in this thread, but the only possession this year where I was surprised we didn't see the backup QB was with 6 minutes left against Ole Miss when we were up 38-16. We had just forced a 3 and out and the game was totally out of reach. When Brennan didn't play on that possession, I knew we were trying to red shirt him. Which I think is a smart decision IF he has the mental fortitude to be ready if we need him. This caveat is no knock on Brennan. It's hard to get yourself mentally prepared to play at a moment's notice if know you're probably not even playing in garbage time.

This is rare, and usually when it does happen it's only to run the victory formation.

Because Brennan has more talent.
Brennan is the better passer.
Brennan will excel in the passing game. Brennan will give us a more precision type throwing offense.
That is why.
