That would seem to favor the team with five running backs and not the team with two.

They better make the players hydrate b/c that is a dry heat...unlike BR

Thoughts?

The 45% humidity is not of great concern since the humidity typically is over 85-90% in Baton Rouge around this time of the year.
That's not true. During the heat of the day, it's more commonly in the 50% range. Right now, I've got 92/71 which is 49% humidity. Even on those rare days the dew point pushes 80, it's more like 60-65%.
The forecast for Austin isn't anything really out of the norm for a football team from here. They know how to hydrate and cool off. The weather isn't going to have much of an impact.

73
Typical reading for south Louisiana.

Predicted temp and heat index (measure of how hot it feels) for this Saturday:
Baton Rouge: 99°(103°HI)
Austin : 102°(103°HI)
In other words it's going to be hot Saturday, but relatively mild compared to the heat indexes that LSU has been practicing in summer camps (multiple days of 105°-116° HI days... with dew points in the 80s)

Won't be an issue for thoroughly conditioned athletes in premiere shape.
It will absolutely be an issue. Cramps and hyrdation slow athletes down.
Good thing is our depth is much greater than UT's

Sun will be a minor factor for the first part of the 1st quarter since Austin is in the same time zone, but further west. After that, both sidelines will be in the shade.
If I did this correctly, and if this site is accurate, this is what the shadow will look like at 6:30 pm. suncalc.org
(Change height to 56 meters if you want to measure from the roof, according to this reddit post.)

Dont get too excited about the low humidity. That is a high pressure system forecast for central Texas this weekend.
Could very well be 75%-80% or higher at game time if the forecast changes.

I don't think the weather is an advantage for either team. If we were a team from Vermont or coastal Oregon maybe.

the visitors sideline is in the sun

That's very low period. I wonder if it is accurate.

I may not need any hot cocoa

That's pretty low humidity compared to BR
This is not accurate. When the temp gets up that high the humidity typically drops to the mid 50s here. When people say, 95 degrees and 90% humidity, thats just not true. That never happens here.
The only place ive ever heard of extreme high humidity AND extreme high temps are in the Middle East. Thats why no one wears underwear there.

Either way it's splitting hairs between Austin and BR. Both places are hot as hell. Austin temps usually get a few degrees higher. BR is usually a bit more humid.

This was 4 years ago in 2015. I was there. It was hot as damnit.
