"Bama can get to the QB" - YES, they can, but not the way Auburn does. Auburn's defense was such a nuisance because they were rushing only 3-4 Dls and were able to create pressure up the middle (in the 3-1-7 package).

Bama total sacks on the season - 19
LBers - 14
DLs - 3.5 (Raekwon Davis does not have a sack all year, not even an assisted sack. Eboigbe has 0.5 sacks)
DBs - 1.5

Only way Bama gets to the QB is to rush LBers (meaning they're rushing 5-6 guys) - and we've seen what Burrow does with that, i.e. Texas and Florida.

Quit asking if Bama can mimic Auburn - they can't.

We are the same way. Do you think LSU could mimic Auburn? And LSU has seen better OLs than Bama has.

LSU total sacks on the season - 20
LBers - 11
DLs - 5.5
DBs - 3.5

No

Also, I like seeing the gumps looking for confirmation by running models of LSU/Bama Nov 9. They worried.

That's kind of how it works when you run a 3-4.

They run a 3-4, where the pass rush is predicated on outside backers rushing the passer, whereas Auburn runs a 4-3 where DT's and DE's have an increased role in rushing the passer.

Bama has a very good pass rush bringing 4 people.

No shite. The point is that Auburn was running 3-1-7 and rushing only DLs.

Bama will not try to do this because they can't do this.

Like I stated in the other thread considering Justin Eboigbe (DE), DJ Dale (NG), Lee Shane (MLB) and Christian Harris (WLB) are all freshmen i think it's safe to say that it's not probable. Not saying it isnt possible but I highly doubt they can apply pressure rushing 3 consistently.

Do y’all think the Alabama fans will sarcastically cheer for us the first time we score? Or do you think it will it be more like “Uh-oh Happy learned how to putt”. ?

Terrell Lewis is how they get to the QB. He's a monster.

Not sure why you’re getting butthurt. You’re the one comparing Alabama and Auburn’s defendes like they’re similar.

Last year bama played a 3-4 defense every game until ours, and then switched it up to a 4-3 base against LSU. A completely different look. It's almost a waste of time to do these comparisons in this game. I would expect a better overall performance by bama's d (when it comes to yards allowed), but Auburn's DL are definitely better on individual levels.

The numbers don't support this. Even if they have been rushing 4 most of the time, 19 sacks in 8 games is not "Very Good".

You wouldn't say that LSU has a very good pass rush would you? I'd say that we scheme a pass rush in spots where we can but down to down, our pass rush is average at best.

You're an idiot. He is directly saying they are dissimilar which is why they can't replicate what Auburn did.

He's acting like because Auburn couldn't get pressure with 3 that Alabama is going to have to do something different than play with 3 down linemen.

Auburn was dropping 7+ into coverage most of the day, expecting the same from Alabama is fricking ignorant.

No. He is saying that Auburn could only afford to run a fundamentally unsound defense (3-1-7) BECAUSE they had monsters on the DL and Bama does not have those same monsters so they can't play that defense.

LSU didn't really get the run game going until the big uglies on the AU DL got tired. If Bama tried to run a 3-1-7, LSU would gash them for 8 yards a pop from the very first snap.

That is the point of this whole thread. People thinking our offense has been figured out are ignorant because no one else in the country can run the defense needed to stop it.
