Ole Miss and Athens are the best
Auburn, Bama and Tennessee next for me
Florida sucks oustide the stadium. Won't go back unless we are ranked high and so are they.
MSU and Vandy are terrible and i would not go back.
Little Rock is the worst

Never been to Arkansas, USC or Kentucky so can't say.
Wo'nt go to Missouri, too far and just have no desire whatsoever, sort of the same with Kentucky, and i'll be at A&M next time we don't play them on Thanksgiving if that ever happens. COuldnl't go last year b/c of the birth of my kid.

I disagree on some fronts. Is it the best at anything? No, but it has some nice quality. Auburn is a quaint, sleepy little town, but I don't know anything about the night life around campus, so I'll exclude that.

Jordan-Hare stadium is LOUD. It's like Death Valley (pre South Expansion) in 7/8 scale. Just a little bit smaller, just a little bit quieter, but still legit.

The tailgating scene is awesome and the women-folk are attractive and in great numbers.

Auburn is not the best at anything, but they aren't the worst either. They're slightly above average compared to the rest of the conference.

Not sure why Vandy is considered awful by some of you. You're in Nashville. Outside of the game you would have to stay in your hotel the whole time to not enjoy that place.

Most of these posts are from a fan's perspective. Why would an athlete choose to play football at Auburn? To play for Gus in a fun offense that scores a lot of points. To beat Alamama? To play in the NC game? And if you're from Shitstain, Alabama, Auburn would be like going to New Orleans.

Pay is good (for players and refs), and they are willing to sign the players who get kicked out of other SEC schools (Cam, Nick Marshall, etc...)

If the athletes get bored or cant find anything to do in Auburn, I know some of them occasionally go down and hang out with students from Tuskegee Univeristy, which is a historically black college 15 or 20 minutes away from Auburn's campus. Not something most white middle aged fans would be interested in doing, but it would interest a black college student

Of course I'm having a great time. I always have fun on road trips because I'm in good company.

The point is that I don't understand why a high profile athlete would choose to live here for 4 years.

Hate on, most of you are on your couches.

Agree with OP. It's obviously a fun road trip because all road trips are fun. Auburn is definitely in the bottom half of SEC campuses/cities/experiences for me.

If you went by things like ACT/SAT scores and high school GPA's, the caliber of regular students Auburn attracts is easily in the upper half of the SEC and at the very least on par with LSU. Everybody obviously doesn't share your opinions of the city of Auburn or our campus. There are obviously numerous reasons why a student would pick any college, but there are probably an equal number of reasons why an athlete would pick a school as well
