Why wasn't Napier ever promoted by Saban at Alabama or hired elsewhere?

In 2011 he was only an analyst at Bama.

2013-2016 He was only the WR coach and no else ever offered him as OC.

He had the HC job at Auburn if he wanted it. Too many staff hiring restrictions.

Hahaha O's bots are working overtime trying to poo poo Napier. The more I see the negative post about him, the more I know he is probably the person for the job.

Why was O ever fired from Ole Miss? Seriously, that could have been their national championship.

He left Alabama to be the OC at Arizona State.

If you’re going to bash the guy, get your facts right.

That was years ago. Now has 3 years as HC under his belt and a 22-5 conference record. Obviously he has come a long way since. He will apply 4 and 5 star talent in the same way he has applied 2 and 3 star talent at UL Lafayette.

Wrong again.

He left and went to Arizona State as the OC before landing the HC job at UL.

You frickers just need to read. It's not difficult.

bc the OC's at Alabama during that time were better, more experienced coaches. You could say that's why Napier is good now.

While he was at alabama from 2013-2016, he worked under Saban, Nussmeier, Kiffin, & Sarkisian

It's really easy to research before making lazy and inaccurate threads like this one

It's as if they believe Woodward is constantly browsing tRant and that Napier will be the frontrunner unless they post enough dumb shite to sway him, it's ridiculous.

Exactly. tRant becomes obsessed with one name and runs with it.

Napier won’t be the HC at LSU, unless others turn it down.

He’s a good coach and has ULL playing well, but he won’t be on the top of Woodward’s list. Just my opinion, which means nothing.

And that’s fine. But the guy is a good coach. No reason to bash him, especially with obviously wrong info.

I'm no O bot and Napier would be a very underwhelming hire to me. I want O gone yesterday by the way.

Look at the Baseball hire and women's basketball. Woodward doesn't let his true target out of the bag and allow it to be leaked.

Likely none of the names being talked about will be the hire.

Jay Johnson wasn't on anyone's radar until the very last second.

I mean the opposite also seems true.

You can have plenty of discussion and valid criticism of Napier without making shite up like op.

This. Many say he isn't a big enough name. I would rather have a guy at his career stage make his name at LSU. Pittman at Arkansas was not a big name either and was hired in the same basic period as Kiffin and Leach. Everyone except coaches who knew what he brought to the table laughed at that hire.

To alot of fanatics he would be an underwellming hire.
To football people with knowledge of coaching ,he would
be a good to great hire. The fanatics thought Saban was
a bad fit not overly successful big 10 coach. I trust SW
He has made some pretty good hires in his career and if
it`s BN I will support him.

I'll answer your question and the other one that's been answered multiple times (Clemson firing) with additional data.
2012 Napier was hired by McElwain who was at Colorado St as the AHC and QB coach.
2013 Saban hires him back as a WR coach. While there Kiffin was hired as OC and in 2017 Kiffin leaves as does Cristobal. Saban sees an opportunity to bring Sark in as an experienced OC. Az St then hires him as OC/QB coach. At ASU their offense improves significantly and is tied for #1 in CFB in red zone conversions. The next year he's offered the HC job at ULL.

At Clemson he's named the youngest coordinator in CFB at 29 by Dabo who called him one of the brightest young minds in CFB and destined to be a HC. His first year as OC he leads Clemson to their highest point total in team history. The second season the team struggles due to a lack of talent at QB and on offense in general and Dabo fires him. 2011 Tahj Boyd becomes QB and Clemson starts its rise.
