Was just listening to former UGA QB Buck Belue on ESPNU Radio. He says that early in the game Aranda was playing two-high safeties - a look you run against. After a few series Aranda moved a safety up in the box - a look you pass against.

I’ve read here (Rouge, et al.) that LSU is just lucky that UGA “inexplicably” quit running, but at least one analyst understands it wasn't so random.

I haven’t read anyone post that here. I thought it was common knowledge Aranda’s adjustments stopped their run game.

Of course that's what happened. The fans see something successful and then when their team gets away from it they wonder what the hell happened. Good coaches however, watch what's going on on the defense and make adjustments before the defense even has a chance to even start winning the downs.

Kirby and his staff probably saw the defensive adjustment and knew they weren't going to be able to run so they went to straight pass and took their chances there.

I have been watching this game for 60+ years, and Coach A is one of the best I have seen at game time adjustments. Hope that is a valid observation, cause it will be needed against the Bama machine this year.

Are there people who actually believe this?

I mean, they quit running because they thought it was in their best interest. They chose that. It's easy to play Monday morning QB, but it's not like they intentionally tried to do the wrong thing.

Fromm just didn't execute. Aranda mixxing up the looks had something to do with that (according to him).

It doesn't have shite to do with luck.

It was mostly Georgia fans with just a few LSU fans here and there.

Contrary to Tiger Rant popular belief, LSU isn't the only football team who have an armchair quarterback fan base. I know we like to think our fans are the worst around here but believe me, we're not. In fact, many fanbases tell us ours are one of the best. Good natured and hospitable.

If you want to see shity fanbases just look how the Gump's are defending that absolutely horrendous targeting call that everybody but them knows is bullshite. Not just defending but ridiculing everybody who disagrees, poking their chest out and acting all smug like they know they're beyond reproach and nobody's going to do anything about it

And Moscona was hitting that point too. I knew there had to be more to it.

Yeah, I feel like a lot of people were talking about Aranda's adjustments after the game.

And both analyses can be true. Holyfield and Swift didn't even have 20 carries between them, so not only did our defense slow their running game down, UGA got away from it too.

We pulled battle up and he was literally ran over 3 times by Hollifield, for 8-9-13 yards a clip. We had the play diagnosed, and they still were shredding us. Glad they went to the pass.....

Pretty sure DE's also shaded from 5 to 4 or 4i technique.

Correct call by Aranda.

Make them best you with the pass as we are supposed to be DBU.

Contrary to popular belief even though the had success running. We slowed it down enough to put them in tough 3rd down situations...and we clamped them

That guy Rouge hates LSU having any type of success.

Holyfield was really the only shredding them because most of the time they kep Swift bottled up, but Holyfield ran like Guice with anger not to be denied. The mistake they made was not giving Holyfield the ball much more.

Georgia has several drives where we stopped the run forcing them 8nto 3 and long.

If the QB at the line of scrimmage sees two high safeties, then you audible to a running play. If you see single high with a safety in the box, you audible to a passing play. Burrow did this the first week of this season, just a few weeks after first setting foot on campus. You telling me that the UGA QB and OCs haven't mastered this simple task yet?

O said after the game that "they shaded, baby" & stopped the run by Georgia. They moved the nose guard over into the gap & the two middle linebackers stepped into their gaps, forcing the runner to jump to the outside, where they had to run east west & were caught by of OLB & DB's.
They must have done the same thing against State. Fitz gained 60 or 70 yards in the first two drives, than less than 50 or so the rest of the game.
I have learned watching Aranda that if we can get by the first couple of drives, he will adjust & usually control the rest of the game. See Georgia & State as examples.

That can't be true. I've seen Les repeatedly run into 8 and 9 in the box fronts.
