9 points on 11 shots.
He also created way more than 4 turnovers. Just like Mickey almost always has a block or 2 more than he gets credit for.

Yes his play was brutal today.

My bad, forgot 12 points on 15 shots and 3 free throw attempts is better.

Even more   at you thinking Martin will be a superstar in the nba

We always pick out a whipping boy and then go with it the whole year. The dude is never going to make anyone happy on this board. LSUbutt brings up a ton of good points. The whole team played awful in 2nd half..

How about that wide open lay up Martin missed. Don't blame Gray for this game.

Gray needs to calm down a little and JJ needs to call a timeout when the team is playing lazily instead of waiting until we lose the lead entirely.

Let's talk about 1/13 from 3 in the 2nd half. What can CJJ do, take the players out?

Uhh, how about he does what coaches are supposed to do and make adjustments?

For the last 10+ minutes of the game, A&M ran a zone because they knew we couldn't make a 3. They doubled Martin and Mickey every time they touched the ball and forced us to take 3s. What did our coaches do to adjust? Nothing. I can understand that its frustrating to watch our guards miss open 3s, but if you're a coach and you see that it isn't working you have to change something.

Its pretty simple for us in close games, we have to get Martin and Mickey the ball in crunch time. And that ultimately falls on the head coach when we fail to do so.

Superstar? No, But certainly an all-star. He just has to dramatically improve his basketball iq which I think he can do that playing against NBA talent. #hegone

Gray turns the balls over by getting off the floor and trying to pass the ball or trying to drive to the rim more than anyone I've ever seen

9 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 turnovers. Yea, he didn't play great but how is that "brutal"? So how was Martin's game since it was almost the same stat line except with more points on 33% shooting

Clearly you don't watch the game or understand basketball. He got his shot "blocked" 3-4 times on jump passes which are turnovers that don't go in the stat sheet.

He is the PG of the team and it is his job to control tempo. He doesn't when it is crunch time. He can't put people in the right positions nor Makena the right decisions in crunch time.

Not true at all. Go back and look at the posts after the Ole Miss game. It was almost unanimous that Gray's play was the difference. I was hoping for a repeat but he reverted back to his former play almost from the start of the game, and it got worse the longer we played. He makes boneheaded decisions too often to be a point guard.
He has the physical tools just hasn't raised his game consistently to winning basketball.

The whole team did play like shite to close out the game. Long periods without scoring a thing and constantly turning the ball over, while Texas A&M would drive straight to the basket and get an easy lay up

That is truly unbelievable. I cannot believe people actually think this. There is zero reason for him to leave this year. He won't even get drafted unless he MAJORLY improves his season. In 3 out of 4 SEC games he's barely been existent

I've noticed Gray has a propensity to drive the lane into a double team and then leave his feet, with little chance for a decent shot. He then tries to just throw out to someone with the 2 taller players draped over him, which usually leads to a turnover. This needs to stop. As someone already mentioned, He's not in JC anymore.

Because you take part of a sentence and try to change my words? We need dribble penetration on this team, plain and simple. Gray is the only one who effectively gets into the lane almost whenever he wants to. I've also said his main problem is when he gets into the lane he turns it over or cant finish. But he also has had moments when he's been spectacular when getting into the lane.

Gray was a shite show today. Continually drives into the defense, out of control, and turns the ball over or takes an I'll advised shot. So frustrating to watch the same shite over and over from him.

Got interested in LSU BBall again because of him!

Especially enjoyed seeing CJAMR & DB today too.

Yes, we should have won, but much more competitive lately & fun to watch again.

Why the Gray hate?

As good as he was against Ole Piss, he reverted back today. Almost as if he decided it was time to get his.

CJJ takes him out after the charge and he sulked on the bench refusing a hand shake from Malone, then CJJ rewards that by putting him back in and basibally putting the game in his hands, and surprise...he turns it over.

He'll help us in some games later I'm sure, but too many games like this from him to this point. We need better from him to get this team where it should be.
