It's not like it's happening once or twice. It's been all year. We either have a coach not capable of getting his players to do what's ask of them, a coach not capable of coming up with a decent plan of attack, or idiots for players.

If you can't listen to your coach on how to simply play against a 2-3 defense, then that player probably won't amount to anything in basketball or outside of it. I seriously doubt this is the problem.
There's no special one way to beat a 2-3.

But the concept of beating a 2-3 is pretty simple, assuming your players have a brain and basketball skills. Pass the ball around quickly, penetrate and kick out for wide open shot or more quick passing for a layup, get to the soft spots in the zone (elbow and short corner).
Passing the ball slowly 5 feet outside the 3 point line while looking at the lane for 2-3 seconds then passing again until the shot clock gets to 10 seconds and then trying to do something that isn't there or jacking up a 3 from 2 feet behind the line isn't how you run an zone offense.
These are simple do's and don'ts, that we don't seem to do, or not do.

They look like they just don't practice going up against zone very much, even though every team does it to them. We are too long and athletic with decent enough shooters to not be able to get people out of a zone. Martin and Mickey are both decent mid range shooters. Patterson and Hornsby are very good 3 point shooters. Gray and Quarterman are good penetrators. We have all the tools needed to beat it, except the coach to teach them how to beat it efficiently.
