re: Why so many empty seats at kickoff...is it the storm or cost?

Sorry we have to actually study and can't waste a whole day going to the LSU game. Trust me, we would love to be there instead of wasting away studying. For the first game, the med school was allotted 54 tickets to split between the 4 classes. We are definitely the reason the student section looks empty .
In Law School, I understand people can't go. it was just a comment.

It looked great on TV. Even once the arse beating started the stands looked solid.
I would say we had 7 to 10k no shows at kickoff with no more than 60k staying at half. 4th quarter started with maybe 35k in the stands. The attendance is very similar to the Curley Hallman era obviously for different reasons

I'm not at the games, but if I was there with my wife and kid once the arse beating started I would have stayed through the 3rd. Then gone outside the stadium to hang out with friends and family I don't get to see very often.

I don't usually leave early but it is a joke with how long espn and cbs can make a game nowadays.

FFS, do we have these threads all the time after a game?
If this was Bama, nobody would be leaving early. Jesus.
Your arse doesn't need to be glued to the seat for a team that doesn't belong on the same field. It's not worth dealing with the traffic and about a million other negative variables sitting through the game. Bama? Now that's worth going through all the negatives...
People have family, work, and schedules they need to stick to you know? Some of us aren't 60yr old retired "Tiger fans". You old bastards get the luxury to relax through an entire game all the time.

I must say, tailgating was 100% better/more populated this week. That storm fricked everything up.

Mine was asking when we were leaving after she finished the dip n dots. She was great though, every time i would yell, she would. Love that little girl

well, he is right. Our fans arent bad, theyre just bad spoiled. Face it, LSU fans like to party. They arent going to watch us pound it up the middle and run the clock out in a blowout. The thing that bothers me is that everybody in the stadium except the students, sit on their hands and save their voices once we go up by 10. It is quiet in there after the first 2 drives

And it seems like it is only getting worse. It's a fricking embarrassment. I really feel bad for the players. It's a slap in their face and shows how terrible our fanbase has become. All the hard work and effort the players and coaching staff put in to be a premier football program and our fans cant even sacrifice 3 hours of their life for 8 weeks a year. fricking terrible.
Step back from the ledge buddy.....

People complain about these threads but it really is sad and very noticeable. The stadium isn't full at kickoff.. then coming back after halftime it seems like a 1/3 of the fans on the east sideline don't come back.

Me and my group stay the entire game but I've got to say, those never ending tv timeouts will drive you nuts, especially when the game's a blowout. And they suck the life out of the crowd after a big play.

Lot of empties in the lower bowl and golden chairbacks in the uppers. How in the hell do people spend that much and NOT even go at all??? Just give them away. Pitiful

It's called greed. LSU has confiscated so much free parking that all the Joe six pack fans now have to park so far away. Money trumps loyalty every time. Sad.

I'm out of state working and couldn't make it. But all the empty seats were really apparent and one of the first things I noticed watching the broadcast. Was with another Louisiana native and we both said, "WTF?".
But otherwise, loved the game.

I think this statement actually proves one of the issues the OP has. If the members of your organization (Med School) are too busy to go to the game and stay, why worry about having the allotment? Let those tickets be sold to folks who will go and stay. Same with the Greek sections. If they aren't going to go and stay, their allotments should decrease and let those tickets be sold.
And to answer the question of another poster; when I was a student (95-99) YES I stayed for the entire game, every game.

Mother freaking this.
It's pitiful.
Dalrymple area is noting like it used to be.
Greedy money hungry powers to be at LSU have done a helluva job calming the crowds and basically killing tailgating/atmosphere for LSU football games.
Wait til next week s idaho and when towsend shows up.
A west Monroe home game will have as many people.

Students are pretty pathetic these days. They have been spoiled by the Tigers success and don't really appreciate what they are seeing. As far as the excuse that it is a long day and you have other obligations....don't go!! Give ur tix to someone who will go and cheer and stay all night. I understand leaving early against Towson and Idaho but against Washington and I'm betting every team other than Bama??.... Fanbase is a joke... Tiger stadium just isn't what it once was
