His velocity was down nearly 4mph these past 2 weeks. Its back up to 95mph tonight

It’s not very often that you just throw a a freshman out there to start against SEC teams with no experience unless they are truly elite. They will usually get eased in to make sure they can handle the competition, and he hasn’t been able to do it so far. Granted none of the other guys have either.

idk he does look better with a full routine than out the pen but generally being bad out the pen isn’t a great way to get a starting spot

He reminds me of a right handed Ty Floyd
He will give up some runs in sec play but would keep them in game and throw strikes
Can’t be any worse then Hurd or Coleman
I still would love to give herring a start if someone else could take his relief role

Kid didn’t start against us but Miss St brought a freshman in early and he made us look stupid and was the difference in the game. Give the kid a shot

Griffin Herring threw a few of our most important innings of the entire season last year….. as a freshman

I am on the fence on this. Don't want to mess him up by throwing him to the wolves too soon in order to salvage this season. We have a number of other choices. We have talented arms. They just need to come thru.

But if Jay and Yeskie think he is ready a d start him, then so be it.

He might be on a similar trajectory as Herring. They were both baby faced freshmen LHPs with good stuff but when we tried to elevate Herring to a SP last year on the weekends he was inconsistent and struggled like Anderson has this year.

Anderson is left handed.

Ty Floyd should remind you of a right handed Ty Floyd because he IS right handed.

Hasn't looked good vs SEC hitting. So not going to just put him out there to start. Easing freshman into that role to see if they can handle it is usually how it works to not lose their confidence.

Now to be fair our pitching outside of Holman, Herring and maybe Jump has been very bad so maybe he eventually gets a shot if our pitching continues to struggle. But hopefully we start to see improvement from the staff as a whole this weekend against Tennessee. Doubtful but they have talent.
