Why LSU should be No. 1 in first College Football Playoff Rankings

"Win those two games and there should be no question LSU is the No. 1 team in the CFP Rankings. But even now, this team is deserving of the crown when it is released Tuesday evening."

While half of me says, who cares about the rankings winning is all that matters, the other half knows that rankings actually do matter when the final decision is made.
If we're number one in the first poll, it's highly likely that we stay in the top 4 even with a close loss to Bama. That could be crucial when it's all said and done.

While the first rankings obviously don't matter, LSU, by its schedule so far, should be #1.
They have the best win of anyone so far this season (Florida) while also having a win on the road against another solid team without the benefit of a tune-up game.
Either way, LSU and Clemson are the only teams that have "earned the right" to be #1 at this point. Ohio State, TCU, and Baylor haven't played anyone worth a damn yet.

I would worry more about the Alabama game and the rest of the games on the schedule at this point instead of some sports writers opinion as of today.

That's just terrible... A large portion of their fanbase are illogical, degenerate a-holes. Ran into many of those craptalkers in the quarter last year during the Sugar Bowl.

Actually, as much as it pains me to say, it does matter right now. There's a reason Bama is right back in the mix after losing at home to a 2 loss team. They were very highly ranked before, and of course they're Bama.
Taking my P&G glasses off for a second, I realize there's a much better chance that we finish with a loss rather than undefeated. It's just a better probability.
Considering that, it does matter where we are ranked now.
