We can be happy we won but still admit it was misplayed. We gave Arkansas a shot at a kick return and a hail mary against our defense that had been struggling. It was in our complete control to not allow them to have those chances but I guess we did let them have it for the fun of it?

This is the worst part of the clock management takes. "Our defense was struggling". Yes, our defense had underperformed, but scholarship players who are aware of a hail mary coming prevent it nearly all the time. They weren't stuggling vs. previous hail mary plays.

The clock management wasn't perfect, but it was acceptable.

Not a REALISTIC chance. How often to 60+ yard hail marys work?

I feel like so many of you are missing the point. Yes , we won the game but there was ZERO need to leave them any time left. It was a clock management mistake that didn’t matter really bc we did win the game but if they had pinballed that ball around and took it to the house everyone in the state would be calling for Kelly’s head. That was really bad and almost everyone in the stadium last night with any football knowledge knew it.

It's simple football knowledge. If you have the capability to prevent this, you prevent it. Why would you want to chance it so you end up another Bluegrass Miracle? You can try to spin it all you want it was shitty clock management period.

Since you can't seem grasp the larger picture here I'll explain it to you. It might show a bigger symptom that's starting to rear their ugly head on this team which revolves around coaching. It's not just clock management. Look at the defense and the misuse of several good athletes on top of not adjusting the scheme to player strengths or making timely adjustments. House has a refusal to change his complex scheme and it forces LSU to struggle to get guys like Womack or the necessary position for Perkins to make impacts. You have Harris handicapped into a complex scheme when his athleticism screams man coverage. This is on House and BK.

If you want to see a good DC, go back and watch Aranda's defenses. He would change his scheme based on personnel and strengths. He was an absolute magician. House and BK are forcing something the players are not comfortable in and they shite the bed in recruiting for it too.

My man it was 100 percent in Les miles territory. BK either 1 lost track of our time outs. 2. Can’t coach the team well enough to not score or 3. Had no clue how much time he can run off the clock.

Frankly none of those are good for us paying him 10M a year to lack such easy detail.

I could forgive it if we had 1 timeout left and we had a big play and scramble down or something like that but we were in complete control and command. We had no reason to blow the last time out.

But again, we had a choice between letting them have a hail mary attempt or not allowing them to have one. We chose the former and you're saying you're ok with that choice? Why would you even allow them the chance if you don't have to?

When I logged off last night people were talking about it. When I log on this AM people are still talking about it, presumably non-stop since last night. How much more criticism should he be getting?

Also BK isn’t a spring chicken coach, the man has coached for like 30 years. If this happens to to a Dan Lanning or someone young up and coming it’s one thing. When you are suppose to be a older coach that has poise and control and is only missing a nc on your resume, this clock blunder shouldn’t happen.

He's getting a shite ton of criticism. Happy now? Besides, any more criticism would detract on all the shitting on our QB. Can't have that. We have to expend all our criticism efficiently so LSU will win next week.

You are what's wrong with lsu football fans the last 15 years

I was listening on the radio and was like wtf is going on. I had to question if the radio and I had the timeout number wrong

Stupid decisions on that scale cost people jobs and this guy makes 10 million a year

Yep, too bad we don’t have a competent media to follow up and ask him exactly how he got in that situation.

The guy has won everything but a nc and coached for 30 years. When your paid that much and have that much experience you should be able to manage a clock better.

Because it isn’t.

And plenty of tards did throw a hissy fit over this and ran the subject into the ground after the game. We’d all just gotten over it and moved on to the real issues …until now

I don't understand. If you look at the three plays and three timeouts called before the FG, what, specifically, should he have done differently?

100 percent we have some retard fans. Some think he played it perfect which is funny because I’m sure after last night Kelly would admit he handled like a retard.

Then we have others that don’t even realize we could have ran it down to the end.

It’s an indictment of the la education system.

Our coach paid 10M a year not being able to execute simple time out and clock management is a legit issue.

It has lost us games in the past.

Oh holy crap. First of all, the biggest thing "wrong" with LSU fans these last 15 years are we can't stand being happy. Any little sign or crack and it's "I see five more losses on this schedule", or "Ole Miss is gonna tear us a new one" or "Aggy is gonna have their way with us".

Second of all, the second biggest thing wrong with LSU fans is our inferiority complex vs Alabama. While somewhat deserved, the defeatist attitude absolutely kills me.

Third of all, there really is nothing wrong with LSU fans.

In conclusion, I am not what is wrong with LSU fans for enjoying a win on a night when we were not our best. Please, dear sir, get over yourself.

Because there were several ways to handle that situation.

The way I see it, there was only one acceptable way to handle the situation, assuming our kicking unit is not a trainwreck, which it isn't. After the first down, let the play clock run to nearly zero, then kneel it. If you need Daniels to get it to a preferred spot for the kicker (e.g., dead center), then he can do that. Run 40 secs off playclock and kneel it again. Do this on 2nd and 3rd down. You can use one of your three timeouts to get everyone organized to execute on this plan and make sure everyone is on same page (lets say you do this after the first down), and you use another of your two remaining timeout on 0:01 for the kick. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Had a first down with under 2 minutes. Arkansas had zero time outs left.

Take a knee on first down, let 40 seconds run off the clock. Take a knee on second down, let 40 seconds run off the clock. Take a knee on third down, call a time out with 2 seconds left in the game.

Arkansas now has a ZERO chance of a fluke play, because you didn't give them the ball.
