LSU is winning and you are whining. Seems appropriate for an LSU fan.

You have to admit it’s strange that Trav isn’t playing IF he is healthy. Is Milazzo better defensively, yes but not that much better that you sacrifice one of your top hitters.

The fact that Trav hasn’t pinch hit at all tells me he is hurt. There were times he could have hit for Pearson and we still would have had a capable OF replacement.

Because milazzo is light years better than travinski behind the plate.. travinski has more passed balls than anyone I have ever seen and you can’t argue his bat when his average in the CWS is like .000. Milazzo steals you strike and can knock down balls in the dirt.. I don’t get how you people can’t see this… the wind at Schwab is not in travinskis favor

Dude travinski I don’t believe has a hit in the CWS.. and milazzo is wayyyy better behind the plate, last night travinski would have had at least 4 balls get by him, he is lazy behind the dish

He may be hurt, but he’s also batting .000 in Omaha.

2-3 passed balls a game advancing 2-3 runners and ruining a pitchers head outweighs 2 base hits if you ask me.

The wind makes it an even easier decision.

My favorite part of this thread was how the OP’s question was answered 17 times, the same exact way, but in slightly different words

Do people not read the responses before responding?

Dude, Jones can't hit spinny things and that's proven. I'd LOVE to see him in a pinch hitting role if we get to the bottom of a team's bullpen, but that hasn't happened since Kentucky, and he got a pinch hit double.

Travinsky can mash but I don't think anyone we've played is out scoring lsu in this cavernous pit of a stadium so far, so defense is what we're focusing on. Millazo, who's hitting is top half of the lineup in Omaha, is infinitely better behind the dish. Sorry you wasted money on the Travinsky t-shirt. It's still a good looking shirt though. Wear it with pride!

The difference in how they framed pitches was night and day. It was the right call to make the change.

Wind blowing in is not a factor , if he barrels it its gone . I believe the experienced catcher with so many young pitchers is biggest factor

That’s been answered throughout this thread.

PB’s and SB’s lose games. Framing pitches and keeping runners on 1st are important. Also, if a breaking pitch is called the pitcher needs to have confidence in throwing it even if it’s 59’ and in the dirt. You want a guy like Millazo catching a young pitcher like Herring.

He IS hurt. He's already not the best defensive catcher, and his injury is only making that worse as evidenced by his last performance. Also its affecting his swing.
Plus Milazo is a damn good catcher, and has been putting the bat on the ball.

Ks incoming!

ETA You need to tell your kid to get in the cage and take a look at as many curve balls as he possibly can this summer.
