On an outside veer??? How is the DT taking the dive when he's being blocked?

you do realize what a dive is....the fullback up the middle...the dt has to be able to get off his block

This is good...

Do you know what an outside veer is?

Only on a midline option would the FB go directly where the C was.

even if the dive back is running one hole over as in the outside veer the mlb and dts assignment is still dive back....i never said it was easy i just said you have to play your assignments or you get burned

Destroy the pitchman on every play, Triple Option dies very quickly.

yeah that is the good thing about the triple option less blockers or (no blockers to shed if your the dend the qb reads)so the olb can destroy the pitchman everytime and the de can hit the qb every play no matter what happens

Because everyone is chasing person A, Then they realize he doesn't have the ball and person B is hauling arse down the sideline. Yes that happens.

Im sure there is a formation better than it but I was describing it out of the 4-3 (the way that i was taught to defend it)

Thanks.

I have no doubt that 5-10 good licks on the pitch man by one of our guys is going to cause him to look away from the ball once.

That's what's so great about the option - all the fumbling possibilities with the ball being tossed around so much.

because.. if the defense is not disciplined and does not play their positions... a good option qb will find them.. and expose them.....

It's so hard to defend TODAY because basically no school runs it so no one is used to seeing it.

I'm more excited now that we've had a few weeks to prepare for your offense. I would have had problems believing we could get our defense ready in a regular season game.

I just hope there was REAL practicing and preparation going on.

Hit the quarterback on every single play regardless whether he has the ball. And if they run that wild cat and leave the qb on the sideline hit him anyway.

hahaha

we have been very bad with the fumbles this year...but for future reference i'll just point out that navy, who runs the O a lot smoother than us at this point, was top 10 this season and most seasons i believe in fewest turnovers.

BerryGT...

Here's some sites where the option is mixed in with the Wing.
