I love reading all this second guessing shite and laughing. In the end O is the fricking HC and that’s all that needs to be said. It will all come crumbling down.

Even with three starters out last night, you’re saying that LSU’s backups are not good enough to compete against SLU, an FCS team that got gashed for over 500 yards against ULM? Is ULM’s OLine that much better than LSU’s?
It's not just that "starters" were out;

as I understand it, one of our starting tackles (preseason) was indefinitely suspended. That meant that one of the starters was actually the top backup.

Then, one of those guys goes down early against Miami, so that required going even deeper into the bag.
That group actually fared competently, if not spectacularly, against what was perceived to be a good Miami D.

That, then was your starting unit going forward.

You then get one of those 2 guys suspended for the Southeastern game, forcing you to start a guy that would ideally have been maybe the 4th tackle.

So, it's not inconceivable that the 4th guy at LSU might not be as good as the #1 guy at ULM.

If I have the attrition messed up, apologies

I understand this.... but our back ups should have been able to handle SELA, should they not? We weren't playing D1 talent.

like I said, I think we were down 2 tackles before the end of the first quarter against Miami. One expected starter is suspended indefinitely; and then one of the actual starters got hurt early and is out awhile.

And then we suspended Charles, forcing us to go deeper. There's a talent disparity between FBS and FCS, but if you play your 3rd team against them, don't be surprised to see that level balance out some. Especially at LSU right now on the line, which was already iffy before any of that went down.

The starter suspended before the season is a guard, not a tackle.

Are our backups not as good as SELAs starters?

Not a guy on that roster would've ever been recruited to LSU.

Good excuse, if we were playing an SEC game.

This is a perfect example of you idiots not knowing a damn thing about football. It's a unit and of course they're better than ULM but I'll bet big money that ULM has been a unit for a while and weren't concerned with establishing a run game and pass game. They got yards how ever they could.

We are trying to establish an offense. An entire offense not just one aspect or another so SEC teams can shut one down and we're fricked. It's not just about the OL either. The WRs aren't getting open and the QB held the ball too long at times. It's a unit and takes time to build into something efficient.

We have good coaches but we now need to build a team with them. This doesn't happen over night. It really doesn't matter who you're playing. If they have some talent and out man you then it can confuse and cause problems. When they picked up everyone did you see SE out muscle our players? No you didn't. I swear our fans are clueless.

Brumfield is terrible. Cushenberry and Charles have been good. Lewis is inconsistent but has shown potential to be dominant at times.

I think Cushenberry has done a tremendous job and is the biggest surprise on the OL.

Apparently Alex Leatherwood got benched at Bama. Someone should see if he wants to come play right tackle for us next year.

I rewatched the game. My god did Brossette miss a lot of holes.

could of easily had a 200 yard game.

There's one cut-back lane in the second Qtr, where he could of walked in for a 30 yard TD. (The drive where we settled for a FG)

We didn't max protect as much as I thought we did, but there was a shite ton of two TE's/ Two WR set's. (Foster would slip out a lot)

There a play on the first scoring drive where if CEH would of just ran a short flair route he would of came dangerously close to scoring.

As a whole the pass blocking wasn't too bad, Joe's pocket clock was just off most of the day.
