I'm guessing they prefer to keep his run blocking in the game.
His pass blocking needs some major work, to put it lightly, and they probably hoped it would improve as he got more live reps.

this isnt high school ...you have absolutely lost your mind if you think hes starting because of anything to do with something besides football. the coach has to win or hes not the coach anymore.

Borderline is a good run blocker. Needs to work on his pass blocking. Have to give players a chance to develop but probably has a short leash this weekend

I think a lot of people were pulling for the kid. He's a legacy and toughed it out for 5 years. I also think people saw him like they saw Will Clapp, another legacy lineman that was actually very good. Maybe he is the best option, coaches usually go with what they see in practice, but it's hard to imagine Lane seeing his performance with Devon Harper available and not intevening.

This is NIL era football where LSU and all schools are buying players left and right. That money has to come from somewhere and nothing on tape can justify him continuing to start other than that.
Harper was starting for Ole Miss and playing well last year. This isn’t some unknown player from a lower conference and different system.

Take a swing (prolly wiff like his blocking) get kicked off the team, spend some time in jail and have to pay some nice bucks (out of daddies pocket) drag LSU into a law suit as well?
He wouldn't do shite because. If he's worth his salt, he knows he had a bad game and needs to be better or be replaced.
