And yet he was still the best prospect in the whole world available to draft.

Still doesn't mean he is a good enough shooter to play on an all star Olympic team
Posted on 6/24/16 at 10:48 pm to tlsu15
Because he's in the big boy league now getting paid millions

It's Olympic basketball. I can't imagine why anyone would be the least bit interested. Surely the majority of players aren't.

For the U.S.?
come on, seriously?

Have you seen the effort he puts into playing when he's not paid? Why would Australia want him on its team?
Posted on 6/25/16 at 8:53 am to tlsu15
He doesn't want to get mugged on the streets.

first, he is Australian and second - we want to win....

Tell me, just how much less could you care?

Not in the top 60-100 basketball players in the NBA is a good reason.

"Ben Simmons will postpone playing with the Australian Olympic team this summer in order to concentrate fully on his NBA activities following the upcoming 2016 NBA draft,'' Simmons' agent, Rich Paul, said in a statement. "Australian Olympic Team training and competition takes place at the same time as the various NBA summer development programs, and therefore, Ben will look forward to his national team participation at some time later in his career.''

I mentioned Australia first, as I would think he would play for them long before he got on a US roster.

There are 30 NBA teams. You think every single team has at least 3 players better than Ben Simmons? Think again.
Name 3 players you would take over Ben from the Sixers, Nets, Timberwolves, Suns, and Lakers. I'll wait.

are you aware of the talent level in the NBA???
Yes, Simmons is extremely athletic, but the NBA is loaded with fast, quick, athletic big men. His athletic advantage over college players allowed him to prosper (without a jumper) but that athletic advantage will shrink once he gets to the NBA.
I'll be very curious to see how he does there.
