Because he takes the contrarian stance on everything to draw ratings. LSU wasn’t a legitimate contender starting in 2012, and he loved us. We’re the best team in the country this year, and now we suck in his eyes. It’s his shtick, he’s a dumbass whose job is to get ratings, not give legitimate sports discussion

LSU is now the most powerful team in the media. Look at the ratings for LSU games this year. Look at the talk shows. Who is garnering attention???
LSU is and no one else is close this year. Not Bama, Not Clemson, Not Ohio State.
Cowherd and all the rest survive on grabbing hold of the object that America is captivated by.
Praise gets some attention. But, take a major opposing view and claim something that goes against public opinion and wham, all eyes are on you! Cowherd and others got where they are by being pot stirrers.
Isn’t it awesome that the Tigers are that team that they are all talking about!!?

Sports radio has become too saturated for him to continue doing what he does and be profitable. Therefore, he has to make outrageous claims in order to draw in more mouth-breathers to up his watch/listen count.
