Ignorant people don’t understand the things they’re discussing. Ignorance + pomposity = ranter, in this case you.

Madking the only person calling people names and ranting is you. Look in the mirror and find a little self awareness. And you missed my point completely, which is not how many players were born in Louisiana, especially since almost of them either left the state before high school or played before the year 2000, but the fact that the current players in high school are not getting the training they need to be great basketball players. There are exceptions of course, but for the most part this is true and needs to be addressed. If we had a private basketball academy school like a lot of states do then we would maybe have a chance.

First off don’t try to police the way people talk. When you come at me that way but you let the other posters snarky jabs slide it makes you look like a hypocrite. I didn’t miss your point but your argument is full of personalized qualifiers and when you do that it opens the door to endless BS. You’re comparing LA to every other state but only Louisiana is subject to your qualifiers. Thats a bad framing of a discussion. The fact is there are more than enough good players to build a foundation for the program. Once you have that you can add to it but the idea that we’re going to go out there nationally and just usurp the blue bloods is pie in the sky thinking. You have to get the best players here or most of them.

Think about it like this TB, if you had Kam Williams, Solomon Washington, Dorian Finister, Percy Daniels and a couple others on the roster right now how much would that save you to go out there and throw however much you need at 1 or 2 players?

Ok, I can agree to disagree and I still haven't called anyone on here an idiot, ignorant, etc.

What's really funny is everyone that thinks I am some kid who didn't know any of those names you posted. I'm 77 and when I was in high school, Bob Petit lived three blocks over and one of my friends mowed his grass. We just got off on the wrong foot and I should take blame for not being more clear about what I was saying. But I definitely know about Russell and the Celtics and Willis Reed and the Knicks, etc. They didn't even televise any NBA games in Baton Rouge in those days but I still remember laying on my bed listening to Petit and Cliff Hagan on the radio when they were with the St. Louis Hawks.

I didn’t think that, the list was in order of career PPG averages from the NBA. That’s why I linked it so that anyone could view the entire list through today.

I wasn’t trying to attack you but these discussions get derailed by irrelevant shite like a player leaving the state as a senior to go play at a national prep. You realize they do that for rankings right? Skylar Mays did that and nobody blinked. Nobody calls him an out of state kid. It’s irrelevant anyway, the talent pool is here. We’ve had 3 under the the radar kids get the the NBA since the Covid year and LSU never bothered with any of them. Same with Cenac, that’s a Nola kid who was recruited by our AAU guy, another Nola kid to a neighboring program. We didn’t get Cam Carter, we didn’t get Jordan Wright, we didn’t get Caleb Daniels. You can’t afford to miss kids like that. I don’t get where we have this attitude that we’re too big to recruit local guys. It’s mind numbingly delusional.

Football is not king in Texas?

Texas also has had consistent success with college basketball in the state at various schools over the years. The Spurs and Mavericks have also had great success during certain periods of time.
