I guess I don’t get it. I’m not upset that LSU didn’t sign a guy who, finally as a 5th year senior, was able to be the 7th man on a good team.

You’re correct, you don’t get it and don’t want to.

La might not be currently producing but in the past, it was a different story.
Willia Reed
Robert Parish
Karl Malone
Howard Carter
Michael Sanders
Bob Petit
Elvin Hayes
Joe Dumars
Hot Rod
Bob Love
Don Chaney
And many others.
Drexler and Bill Russell were also born in Louisiana.

No, the state of Missouri does. When a kid leaves home during high school, there is no reason to think LSU gets some sort of home state advantage when recruiting them. In fact, it's usually the opposite and they are looking to go elsewhere.

1 PG and sorta 1 C over 3 recruiting classes...yeah we're loaded.

Nice...This also doesn't include players who may have been born elsewhere but raised in the state. Kerry Kittles for example.

That’s a good point. My intention wasn’t to be real specific on things like that, just to show that the talent is here and we’ve done a very poor job of keeping it for the last 20+ years at LSU. Dale Brown and Brady had Temple and Pierre to identify and connect us with the best in state kids including under the radar types but that relationship was never formed once White became the guy in that department. It’s cost us stability and some key pieces that could’ve made the difference on some teams. Imagine Rico Gathers on that Ben Simmons team, you’re def in the tourney and who knows how far that goes. Imagine having a guy like Mitchell Robinson on Wade’s 1st and maybe 2nd team. Imagine having Caleb Daniels and Jordan Wright on Wade’s last team. You can’t build any momentum with how we’re doing things at LSU basketball.

It’s not weak at all, but it is pretty irrelevant to present day recruiting.

You don’t have to tell me. I agree with you. Some people swear we are still loaded with hidden talent that nobody knows about every year.

But DJ Augustin moved because of Katrina his senior year and took Wollowridge to the state finals. Your dumbass probably thinks he is a Texas player.
