re: Why does UL Lafayette not play LSU in any sport besides baseball anymore?

The last few times LSU has played ULLLLLL in football they never sold their ticket allotment. Obviously, no big demand to play on their part. No loss. As to why LSU stopped playing, there was an ugly fight between the baseball teams that carried over to a softball game (ULLLLL was already mad that LSU stole their softball coach, to the extent they took down a plaque in her honor at their stadium). The ULLLLL fans were cursing the Lady Tigers & several near fights broke out in the stands. Skip told ULLLL he would never play them in any sport & that stood for a long time. Too, a ULLL baseball coach broke protocols about state baseball teams not giving out scouting info to out of state schools. He gave a full scouting report to UT. Same a-hole who was fired from La. Tech down the road. Playing ULLLLL in any sport serves absolutely no purpose; the only reason LSU plays them in baseball is the ULLL coach kissed & made up with CPM.

ULL's basketball coach Bob Martin talked about this on the radio just yesterday.

I think we're scheduled to play them 2018 in Tiger Stadium

UL softball coach Lotief turned Yvette Girard into ncaa on a softball recruit. Nothing came of it but LSU admins were pissed. There is a rift. Said they would not schedule them in anything except baseball.

Someone posted a few years back the point total between LSU and ULL in football is something absurd like 800-46. I believe they scored a touchdown for the first time against us a few years ago.

You missed a couple of "L"s.

I know a bunch of University of Louisiana at Lafayette types around here who say LSU is just pain scared to play the mighty Cajuns. Oh, how I do suffer in this town.

So the Cajuns tried to play LSU in baton Rouge, in a exhibition game and was going to give the money to flood victims and LSU turned it down.

Can't make that shite up
BTW Cajuns went 7-0 in instate game this year

They probably could have beaten us in basketball this year

It's a shame two Top 25 programs located an hour apart don't play. The Cajuns have played a home and home series with Alabama and Oregon the last two years and have an annual series with Baylor.

You really believe its serves lsu no purpose to play the cajuns in baseball or softball every year? Playing 2 teams that are consistently ranked doesn't help lsu for the post season? Very very little separates lsu and ull softball and playing a 3 game series in baseball would help both teams in rpi most years.

I believe the "no touchdowns" streak of ULL against LSU still stands.

They do play in baseball almost every year...

Very little? ULL has made it to Omaha once. That's cute.

They're OK in basketball. Nothing too special, but they'd probably have beaten us this year!
They're a pretty strong mid-major in football, but we clearly out-talent them at almost every position, every year.

I'm pretty sure that Tech would play them in Ruston or Shreveport. In football LSU doesn't want to give up any home games. Too much money going on. Basketball and Baseball they want as many home games as they can get also. Just check the schedules.

Tech has played them on the road in football several times fairly recently. They've played in baseball in Baton Rouge a few times as well. Not in Ruston since the 90s though. I don't think they've played in basketball at all since the 80s. I don't see why not. Tech travels to play bigger competition regularly.

Their football team has never made it into the endzone against us. They had it 1st and goal from the 1 last time and still never got in. After that I think they just quit.
