Why does Saban always seem so melancholy in interviews?

Doesn’t matter which interview it is, pre-game, halftime, post-game, practice. The dude just looks miserable and incredibly irritable.

Always undercutting reporters questions and lecturing. What the frick he has to be so pissed off about as one of the greatest coaches in college football.

(Other than losing to LSU, of course)

Why would anyone want to play for that “get off my lawn?”

He doesn't want to appear to care about one game more than the other. Never too high. Never too low. Treat every game the same. It seems to be working out okay for him so far.

Cause he’s got a head like a melon and a face like a collie.

Yep. He’s a dickhead. Not in his DNA to be remotely nice. Life is short. But too long to be like that. Sad actually. He has everything in the world a fella could want. What he doesn’t have he can buy. and he is a straight up a-hole

Because he learned it from Belichick. Saban is very cerebral. He chooses his words and tone to convey a psychological message to his players.

His only motivation in life is coaching football and being on top. Makes for a sad existence.

Agreed. It really is always cringeworthy watching the man conduct interviews, and do press conferences. One of the all time worst. I always feel sorry for the ones who have to interact with him.

He is totally focused on his needs and feels irritated that he is being taken away from his work. Not a bad trait but he does get excessive. Ask any assistant thats worked for him. Or any Miami Dolphin who witnessed him just stepping over a passed out player in the locker room to get to his office. But he IS the GOAT, IMO.

He’s college’s Bill Belichick. They typically don’t show joy until they win a trophy.

Is the only way to do that to look like you hate the world?

His up mood is kind of everyone else’s regular mood. And I think he’s getting old for the demands of coaching college FB

He is 68, tired, and even bored. Nothing left to prove when you’ve climbed the highest mountain multiple times. “Do it again, Coach” just doesn’t resonate for him anymore. Maybe go to the real USC? OR JUST RETIRE.

Except, he had the same demeanor when he was 48 and hungry.

He even struggles to muster up some energy for his Aflac commercials
