Why does Miles get no credit for successes in the pass game, only the failures?

I can't understand why everyone bangs on Miles and says our offenses are handicapped passing wise because of him. Of our top 9 passing seasons in LSU history, 5 of those seasons came under Miles. Mett seemed to do fine under him last year and I think once Harris learns the playbook, he will be the next good one at LSU.

Coach is doing his best tko win in 2014, and I agree with his approach.

I think people greatly underestimate how hard it is to win football games in the SEC. They make it sound like a walk in the park to win in that conference.

The rant is a cesspool of bitter sidewalking and southern grown retardation.

Maybe because Mett threw for 3k yards last year and odds are jennings won't even start next year.

The Rant and most message boards attract the angry, frustrated and, largely, unknowledgeable.

Do you mean by yardage?

That's so damn misleading. You can toss out anything before about the year 2005 as appropriate for comparison because football has changed.

Passing achievements should be measured relative to other teams in current circumstances, not against Nelson Stokely and Paul Lyons.

Um. Miles has been here since 2005. In that time, he's had what could be labeled a GOOD passing game 4 times. He's had what could be labeled absolutely dismal passing games 4 seasons. The other 2 that I label "mediocre" are Lee's last season and Mett's first. And let's be blunt. Once Lee was sat down, our passing game that season was an F'n joke.

He receives "credit" based on the body of work which indicates that short of having an NFL talent, we go from good to shite.

Discussing the passing game =/= discussion of wins/losses. You do realize that, correct? I mean hey, some coaches seem to understand how to maximize passing games but have shitty defenses, so they still lose.

Miles' Achilles heel is clearly the passing game. That's really not arguable. No one says that means he's 100% shite.

People say this but frankly, if they are right, then this season is truly baffling. If it is so damned self explanatory that Jennings wont start next year AND, we STILL lost at least 3 games, then what was the point of not giving the supposedly better QB experience? Now, if it's true that BH is so much better, he enters next season no more seasoned than AJ entered this one.

Right off the top of my head, I can think of Bert Jones, Rohan Davey, Mike Hillman, Alan Risher, and Mike Miley having pretty good passing seasons..

That's at least FIVE right there before Miles... so that "5 of 9" of the best passing seasons in LSU history under Miles is immediate and utter bullshite.

Yeah. Bert Jones' stats likely look weak compared to most decent QBs since 2005 but, LSU would shite star shaped frisbees if they had access to a QB of that quality this year. The game was VERY different then.

6 out of his 10 years here the QB play has been below average. The only gripe most of us have is his scouting/recruiting/development of the QB position. A lot of those years, the QB position is the only position that has held back the team.
