Because, we are the ones spending money to go to the game and the trip is much easier for those with jobs.....IMHO

The reason is because NegaTigers need something to bitch about instead of supporting the team that they claim to be fans of. Period. Dallas is frigid in the winter time. F that, but as a Tiger FAN, I will go where they go, and love every minute of it, because unlike you selfish NegaTigers, I LOVE MY TEAM!

looks like someone is off their meds today.

It is not that big of a deal to me because I can't make either game, but I can only assume that most of the Cotton bowl enthusiasts are those are who are going to attend the game and favor the trip to Dallas and thenew stadium over the trip to the Cap One and the crappy stadium. Although it would be neat to play in the new stadium, we do that it in our very next game and the Cap One Bowl offers a signficantly higher ranked opponent. LSU-Michigan State at, say, #8 vs. #10 would be the best non-BCS bowl out there in terms of matching highly ranked teams. Hell, it would be better than most BCS bowls.

I don't.

a team we won't get any respect for beating on the national level

We won't get respect for beating either one of these mid-levels. Just enjoy these bowls for what they are. Meaningless exhibitions.

Gene Stallings??
Lat time A&M and Nebraska played was 1995...Stallings was long gone by then.

As an Aggie, I can see the reasons for LSU wanting to go to the Capital One Bowl..I can see both sides of the argument and I dont blame fans for wanting to play the higher ranked team.

As for those grueling over the new Cowboys Stadium...meh its really not that great for football. Dont get me wrong..its a modern marvel of technolgy...but a terrible place to watch a football game. Many around here wish the Cotton Bowl would have stayed in the Cotton Bowl..in a stadium full of tradition and played outdoors.Im sure many LSU fans felt this way when your baseball team moved out of Alex Box Stadium.

Either way, I look forward to our matchup with any SEC team...lots of respect for the SEC and personally would love to see LSU and the Ags meet up. Some of my best memories were traveling to Baton Rouge to watch the Ags and Tigers then eating at Mike Andersons after the game.

And now that my in-laws are all from Louisiana (Jennings, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge and New Orleans) and about half went to LSU...just makes for a fun rivaly.

Good luck in which ever Bowl you guys end up in.

FWIW, I think TexasA&M is better than Michigan State, despite what the polls say.
HOWEVER, what the polls say is what matters when it comes to national respect and finishing the year off with a bang. You probably are right in that aTm could probably beat Mich St, which is all the more reason we should all rather play Mich State. A more beatable yet higher ranked team in a more prestigious bowl. There are so many more benefits to playing in the Cap 1 instead of the Cotton. But whatever.

Because alot of alumuni who are cheap asses live in Texas and want to go to the game and won't drive that far or pony up $119 for the round trip flight on Southwest airlines. The Cotton Bowl was a good bowl in the 70's

Traveling somewhere other than Jerryworld would probably still come out cheaper than Cotton Bowl tickets. They're in the neighborhood of $300+ right now.
