First off Im looking forward to seeing LSU back at Kyle Field...should be alot of fun.

I always enjoy going to Baton Rouge and eating at the places the locals recommend. If looking for somewhere to eat, I would like to recommend Harold's Hot Dogs. Great local owned place that serves hot dogs you cant get anywhere else in town..southwest Dog, Carolina Dog and Chicago Dogs. We get a pack of 50 for our tailgate. Place is very close to the stadium at the Corner of Wellborn and Southwest Parkway. Safe travels Tigers

I thought you couldn't use a parking spot for tailgating, only the grass area behind??

correct...you can only set up canopies, grills, etc on the grass spaces that perimeter the lot. Not even chairs and a cooler are allowed on the concerete...yes they enforce this. Can be in the bed of a truck but not on the ground.

LSU?? 1997 Baseball??
Great team, won a National Title..but can you really call a team that lost in the last month of the season 16-1, 28-2, 12-2 and 11-5 the "greatest team you have ever seen"???

1989 Aggie Baseball team finished 58-7...were 58-5 heading into the last day when LSU did the unthinkable...im getting sick just thinking about it.

and not intending to derail a post...so I will say the LSU fans at Olsen that day were a great bunch to be around. I think they realized the absolute nightmare we were going through in watching the Ags lose two straight that day and were very classy.

folks...please do not listen to anything written on texags. The majority of people on there are below the age of 20 and do nothing but consistently gripe and give their opinion on matters that quite frankly they know nothing about.

I have seen the Tigers play at kyle field many times..made the trip to "Death Valley" in 1992.I watched Ben McDonald and the 1989 LSU baseball team celebrate their CWS berth on Olsen Field after beating the greatest college baseball team I have ever seen in the 1989 Aggies. Went to New Orleans in '91 I believe to watch A&M and LSU baseball in the Superdome, watched LSU in Omaha in 1993 when the Ags were there... heck I even married a Cajun who has family that went to LSU.

I have been around LSU fans...some of the most passionate and intense fans I have ever been around. LSU fans CREATE an atmosphere...and its unmatched in college athletics.

I have always enjoyed my time around LSU fans and love going to Baton Rouge...is it Crawfish season yet!??!?!?

and to get a tailgating spot I would suggest arriving no later than 3. We are planning on getting to the stadium at 1 to tailgate.

Just a heads up...its fairly difficult to get a large gathering at your tailgate at Cowboys Stadium. The tailgating spots are the perimeter parking spots in each lot..they are grass spots and this is the only spots where you can have grills, chairs, etc.. So just keep in mind, its only one row of "tailgating spots"..so you only have about 10 feet to work with. Now if your entire group gets there at the same time and you have multiple vehicles you can park side by side in the tailgating spots and give yourself a little more room length wise.
I can tell you there are not many Aggies who think A&M will have their way with LSU. Those that do...well theyre just not very bright.
The roof and glass doors will not be open. I have been to Cowboys Stadium probably 15 times for Cowboys, college and high School games..I have never seen the roof open and have seen the glass doors open only twice.
Gene Stallings??
Lat time A&M and Nebraska played was 1995...Stallings was long gone by then.

As an Aggie, I can see the reasons for LSU wanting to go to the Capital One Bowl..I can see both sides of the argument and I dont blame fans for wanting to play the higher ranked team.

As for those grueling over the new Cowboys Stadium...meh its really not that great for football. Dont get me wrong..its a modern marvel of technolgy...but a terrible place to watch a football game. Many around here wish the Cotton Bowl would have stayed in the Cotton Bowl..in a stadium full of tradition and played outdoors.Im sure many LSU fans felt this way when your baseball team moved out of Alex Box Stadium.

Either way, I look forward to our matchup with any SEC team...lots of respect for the SEC and personally would love to see LSU and the Ags meet up. Some of my best memories were traveling to Baton Rouge to watch the Ags and Tigers then eating at Mike Andersons after the game.

And now that my in-laws are all from Louisiana (Jennings, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge and New Orleans) and about half went to LSU...just makes for a fun rivaly.

Good luck in which ever Bowl you guys end up in.
