This team is bad from beyond the arc. With their length and athleticism, they could consistently dominate if they forced the issue by scoring in the paint. Not many teams can match their height, length, and athleticism.

Against the better teams, they're going to have a tough time scoring and keeping up if they continue this desire to be a three-point shooting TEAM.

Better teams will be able to stop this team from driving and scoring inside the paint, so they’ll need to score from 3 when it’s open to keep teams honest.

Three pointers are kinda how you win games in this era.

Part of it is Wade does not want them shooting mid-range 2’s. He’s a big believer in analytics which say the only shots you should take are 3’s, 2’s at the rim, and FT’s. You can’t ALWAYS get shots at the rim, so they are going to take their share of 3’s…even if they don’t shoot a particularly high %.

It’s new-age basketball. LSU is not the only team that takes that approach

They can’t beat a really good team without making at least 5/6 a game. WW tells them that at practice they know it’s true . He will never admonish a good look from 3 by everyone on the floor.

We just haven’t had our main shooters all have a good night at the same time yet. First few games Days was on fire while Pinson couldn’t hit anything and Murray wasn’t finding enough looks yet. Murray picked it up a little bit when Days first went cold and tonight Pinson was hot while the other 2 went like 1-7 or 8. All 3 of these guys can shoot, Days is a 38% shooter for his career at almost 350 attempts, Pinson is around 33% at 300+ attempts and Murray is a shooter. It’s still early, I think these 3 will come back to their norms as the season progresses and we’ll be fine from range.

LSU is also top 25 in the country in Offensive Rebounds which results in 2nd chance points / fouls.

At times it's frustrating when they go cold but this isn't your Johnny Jones teams just jacking it up for no reason.

Parker is terrible- you can see Wade get pissed AF whenever the students start that dumbass chant bc he kills whatever offense/defense we have going.

If Wade still cared at that point, Edwards wouldn’t be in the game

I thought this was going to be about 3-star football recruits.

For one, I don't believe we were "settling" for 3's. If someone is open from 3, they will probably take it. Having said that, last night I bet a lot of the gameplay was to try and get some guys going from 3 (Days). See if he can use the game time to get going from 3 when we were up 30. That was the worst team we'll play all year, and was the perfect tune up for bigger games. Why not try and get some guys in rhythm?

I would argue that over the past 10 years our 3 & 4 stars have turned out way better than the 5 stars we have signed…

Completely Agree! Not sure why you have so many downvotes? I can assume that Literally none of these people have watched this team play? They are a Terrible 3 point shooting team and that is not even debatable!!

it's not the 3s it's the half court offense. it's like perimeter pass, perimeter pass shoot. love this team, don't get me wrong but i'd feel better if those 3s were coming after some penetration--just a better rhythm

They are not shooting it well from 3. No one is going to deny that. But in today's game the 3 point shot is one of the 3 "preferred" shots. The others being 2 pointers at the rim and FT's.

The logic is as follows. A team has to shoot 50% from 2 to equal/slightly exceed 30% from 3. It is obvious, but that is because a 3 is a more "valuable" shot. That being the case, LSU is going to shoot their share of threes...even if they will never make more than 35% (at best) of them.

But to give some data, LSU is not taking an overwhelming amount of three's per game. They are 208 in 3 point attempts per game. They are only 8th in the SEC in 3pt attempts per game.

Complain all you want, but Wade SPECIFICALLY doesn't want his team taking mid-range 2's. He has said he wants that number low because it is a "bad shot". Either you step back and shoot a 3 or you take it to the rim for a lay-in and/or foul.
